Like Kylie, I also use Proactiv and it completely saved my skin. It did take a few months to really work for me but now I wouldn`t use any other product. I have tried almost every other chemical and natural product and none of them ever worked for me.
Benzoyl Peroxide is dangerous for your skin when not used properly. When I purchased my proactiv over the phone, the very first thing the sales consultant said was `make sure you moisturise your face daily or chances are your skin will not only become dry, but may flake`. A few of my mates have also purchased Proactiv and were told exactly the same thing. I use the Oil Free Proactiv brand of moisturiser to save my skin from drying out and it does just that – I have had no problems with any of the Proactiv products whatsoever and to anyone with acne or pimples that affect their self-esteem, I would highly recommend trying Proactiv, for me it truly lives up to it`s brilliant reputation. However when I have used other brands with Benzoyl Peroxide in them (not knowing that moisturising is a MUST) my skin did infact dry out and become quite awful! I have heard that different skin types react differently though, some people using Proactiv don`t even need to moisturise as their skin tolerates the solution without drying out.
Basically my point is if you`re going to use any harsh chemicals on your skin, including Benzoyl Peroxide – make sure you moisturise 😀
Another suggestion is to take Fish Oil capsules every single day. I have found this is amazing and even when I do get a few spots they are hardly inflamed at all. There are tons of other health benefits to these capsules too so they`re worth a try in my opinion.
