face sunscreen for acne prone skin

Can anyone suggest a good face sunscreen to use on my face. I have extremely sensitive skin and easily break out. Anyone have any suggestions?

i had the same problem and fount that when i used sunscreen it would feel really thick..and always worried that it would clog pores. i use a moisturiser with inbuilt sunscreen – dermalogica has released a skin care range called clean start which i love. the moisturiser that i use is called “Welcome Matte SPF!5+” and it is a lightweight lotion that reduces oiliness and offers sun protection without drying the skin. So basically it also has salicylic acid which reduces acne formation and doesnt have that chalky, heavy and greasy feeling u get from sunscreens. its a winner!!

i will forever love the invisible zinc environmental skin protector sunscreen which is like a zinc sunscreen/moisturizer without chemicals that are enriched with antioxidants to protect your skin against pollutants. its non-greasy and i have oily skin -_____- and its like my daytime moisturizer 😉 love it.

I totally agree, I wish I knew years ago about how good zinc is for my skin, the amount of sunscreens that use to sting my skin, I totally hated sunscreen due to that fact, lol.

And doesn’t irritate! I can’t tell you how many sunscreens have irritated my face in the past – even the ‘sensitive’ formulas – now I’m far more into using zinc than chemical blockers.

Yes I would never use a sun protection product that isn’t zinc it is by far the best thing for healing problematic skin 🙂

Yeah that’s what I hated about the ultra sensitive one – no staying power whatsoever. I have a sample of the Alpha-H one which I’m yet to try, I’ve heard it’s fab though. Otherwise I would def being going IZ ESP – so light, and you’ve got the healing benefits of the zinc on blemishes etc.

Oily sunscreens are just useless becasue like Elmo mentioned they just slide off your face in the heat, so they are pointless/ I highly recommend the Alpha-H it is designed to withstand heat and isn’t at all oily 🙂

I personally think the Alpha H one that mel suggested would be where I would start.
The ultra sensitive might be too oily. This is why I havent tried mine yet…

It depends on your skincare regime really, I use a vitamin c serum and a vitamin a serum along with a cleaner and a moisturiser so there is no need to have them all in the one product. It comes down to what works for you and it is often best to get your skin assessed so you know if you actually even need all these things for your skin or not 🙂 Good luck with the Ultra-sensitive, let us know how you get on. I think alot of Derm salons do free skin-mapping so you will be able to find out when you purchase it if it is the best thing for your skin 🙂
