Eye makeup for concerts.

Hello Beauties!!!!

I am performing in my annual dance concert in two weeks.

I need to make my eyes look bigger for the camera bla blah….. I already double coat mascara (one coat, wait five minutes then another coat). DOes putting white eyeliner make you eyes look bigger??? I heard that if you put white eyeliner on, then black or brown on top it makes them look bigger. ANy advice appreciated.

Thankyou, and with loads of kisses,

BQ xxxxx

Try smuding your eyeliner under your bottom lashes but only a quater of the way along – ou don’t want a definite line – something a bit smudgy gives the illusion of shadow and therefore increases the size.

    Also definitely use false lashes!

Nah… The mascara I have doesn’t clump easily!! (lucky….) But if it does, you can chip clumps of with nails.

    Thanks for all the advice!

Hey Beautyqueen I heard that you should apply a 2nd coat of mascara quickly before the 1st coat dries otherwise you’ll get clumps or something? Or is that what you’re aiming for?

Anyway good luck I hope you dance well! 😀

It is my first concert with this dance company. My other dance studio was silver and maroon eyeshadow :S! I am going off the notes they gave me. I do agree with strange choice for stage makeup!

Every place is does their makeup differently, but I have never seen blue eyeshadow on stage, unless its for a specific role!

I’d probably still do falsh lashes though – they really do add that little bit extra and they do widen your eyes. Maybe check with the others that your dancing with??

    Thanks Nicollback.

    The directions for makeup are:

Fill eyelid with white eyeshadow, then go over the top in skyblue shadow.
Foundation, black mascara and deep blue/black eyeliner. Blush along cheekbones and bright red lippie.

You should be wearing false lashes as well as using mascara.

My general dance concert face is stage foundation with white eyeshadow on from my crease up to my brow bone. A medium matte brown over my lid and out slightly to where my eyebrows end. Use some eyeliner – i use brown liquid and doi t over the top lid and out in a straight line and do the bottom underneath the bottom eyelashes out to do another line, so there are two like an equals sign!

Plus lots of blush and red lippie.

It has worked well for me for 17 years!

Good luck at your concert!! 🙂

I get you now, I always apply the liner on the waterline of my eyerim, so that is where you would want to put the white liner, I thought you were maning to cover the white up with the darker liner, LOL. Hopefully it will help a bit 🙂

Thanks mel. Apparently you apply as far on the inside lid as possible, and then black on over the lashes. I never get mascara on the bottom lashes, I get panda eyes, because I smudge it when I blink!
