Energy
I have been reading through heaps of topics that touch on this but thought to start one of its own and see what suggestions everyone have. Without stimulants like coffee, energy drinks etc What can be done to help boost energy levels? I have been sick and just can’t get my energy back no matter what I try. I’m not deficient in any vitamins, not depressed etc so have no idea why I can’t feel energised. I have motivation just not the physical energy to go along with it. All suggestions greatly appreciated 🙂

Try taking an iron supplement a couple times a week, I find this helps heaps. Also drinking water is great, it does increase your energy levels as it helps to remove toxins and other waste build up in the body which can other wise make you feel sluggish and tired. However don’t forget that drinking too much water is dangerous (don’t go drinking 8 glasses in a day if you normally only ever have 1 or 2 glasses!)… drink in moderation guys 🙂
Plenty of good sleep is essential… a positive attitude or even a smile before you get out of bed does wonders 🙂I have been reading through heaps of topics that touch on this but thought to start one of its own and see what suggestions everyone have. I felt like that last year, we think I had Mono…. I had every single symptom, but the blodd test was a negative. But the drs were pretty sure! I was bed ridden for about a week, I was too tired to do anything but sleep, I had to sit in the shower, I couldn’t stand. It was horrible. and i wasnt right for another month or so. I would wake up tired… Have you got any other symptoms other than being constantly tired?

Thanks Oceangirl and Roxymisha, I do drink the right amount of water and am a fan of the lemon/hot water in the morning but when I think back to my last blood test the lady had trouble getting any because I was really dehydrated. Will up my intake and then see what happens. I went earlier today and bought a new sports t-shirt (had a $20 rebel voucher to use!) and decided to wear it and like you said Roxymisha i’m just going to put it on, my shoes and get out there without thinking about it. Had a bad afternoon (totally unrelated) and was in a bit of shock so today didn’t happen but tomorrow I start, No excuses 🙂 Lets get our energy back!

I know what you mean, i was so physically tired not to long ago that i needed at least five cups of coffee to get me through my day. i exercise everyday and back then had to force my self too. i went docs and got a blood test, came back all clear. i asked the doc “then why am i tired?” he told me that he belived i was dehydrated and to drink more water. I started to drink at least 8 glasses a day, and since this my energy levels have increased. How is your water intake?
I am an absolute fanatic about water intake and drink 6-8 glasses a day. For variety I squeeze a little lemon or lime juice. What I found is easy is to have the lemon or lime sitting next to my glass on the kitchen bench so it is fuss free. With exercise, sometimes it is necessary to just do it. Don’t think about going for a walk, just put on your walking shoes and go. The attitude change comes after the behaviour change. I have to take this approach myself because my energy levels are not great at present. So, let’s go!

Good tips! I find when I stop exercising I start to feel more tired, its hard to pick it up again but once I do I agree that it helps energy levels to boost. Will try walking more again and aim to do the morning jog. The apple idea is clever, will go buy some tomorrow and give that a go too. Thanks everyone 🙂 Will implement more exercise in again step by step and see how it goes.
