are you looking to have it chemically straightened or did you want to keep the curls and just have something that controls the curls?

hi I too have thick curly hair that needs to be tamed. a few years ago a freind recomended a product from just cuts hairdresses it was from their justice range and it`s called zero frizz curl controller. I loved it so much that I brought up on it so I think it is now called the zero frizz curl definer but I really do recomend it. I only need a small amount on my finger tips and then I just rub it through my towel dried hair, I only need to do this about three times and I have hair a bit longer then my shoulders. I put this in when I go out, it doesn`t make my curls dry it just holds them together. I can only wash my hair every three days so when I have this in I can get up the next 2 days spray it with a little water and it reactivates it.
I tried the pantene frizz controller and it did nothing for my hair.

You need to look at using a shampoo/conditioner range specifically targeted at your hair type. There`s plenty out there – I`d personally look for ones by Kerastase, Loreal and Redken. I don`t have the same hair type as you, so don`t know the specific names, but I have heard about a great range for curly hair from Kerastase. Best thing would prob be to go to a Hairhouse Warehouse and get them to help you find the right products, then once you find what works for you, you can buy Kerastase more cheaply on strawberrynet.

I`m not sure what you currently use but I think you`d also benefit from using a serum/smoothing cream to help tame the frizz. I personally love De Lorenzo rejuvenate the ends, which is half serum half smoothing cream, you can use on wet or dry hair as much as you won`t, won`t make it greasy or weigh it down – just tames the frizz and makes your hair smooth and soft. It`s about $22 from Hairhouse Warehouse.
