Covering up a breakout and making it worse!

I’d love to hear what others have used prior to applying their foundation and concealers on top of a breakout/pimples/acne. I’m 37 and still get monthly breakouts. Normally they come and go quickly but sometimes needing to cover them up (and I NEED to) worsens the problem! I do use eo’s of lavender and tea tree… any tried and true suggestions??

Natio do a really great spot concealer in a little tube, it helps to cover them up as it is tinted but has vitamins etc in it to help get rid of the pimple as well! It’s a staple in my makeup bag!

a good cleanser is a must and a toner will help a lot too with breakouts. I also love a quality serum rather than heavy moisturiser to combat oiliness. Tee tree products work wonders and are usually really natural. I also love dermalogica exfoliating powder as it leaves skin really clean and soft and removes dirt and oil and is really rejuvenating, good luck

The best thing i would say is to use your concealer lightly and build it up rather than trying to put heaps of product on all at once because that way it won`t look cakey or crusty! x hope it helps

I have the same kind of issue, I get really bad breakouts on my chin and back. What I do fo my face is I use The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil range: facial wash, toner, mattifying lotion, night lotion, blemish target gel and body wash. Works wonders for my skin. As for makeup, I just use the body shop tea tree mattifying lotion as a primer and use estee lauder double wear foundation

if you have a big noticeable pimple or scar… apply liquid bandaid over the top with a cotton bud and it should create a smooth surface to apply makeup over the top (only apply it on the pimple) not around…. also it will protect like a wound from any nasty stuff getting in there

Apple cider sounds like good advice

I`m more prone to these during summer because sweat makes my sunscreens/moisturisers run off, so I assume they clog pores as well. I tend to use products more sparingly at these times and there is less problem. Some still remains but am happy to have less breakouts.

Im 19 and hardly ever wear foundation or any cover up because I find the same thing. It just clogs your pores and causes the problems. Clean and natural is the way to be and detract attention from any facial blemishes by highlighting the eyes and lips 🙂
