Contact lenses are fine. However, you may have a reaction to some of the solutions so that for you disposable are the best. I`ve worn glasses since I was 19 and soft contact lenses since I was 25. I tend to alternate between them. My short sightedness tended to worsen for a number of years but now has remained the same for the last 5 years. Any deterioration was not due to the lenses but my own sight. I find that contacts are great for sport and swimming.

I don`t think contacts make your eyesight worse. But I only started wearing them 3 years ago and only wear them occasionally. I usually wear glasses, but not 24 hours a day. And my eyesight is the same as it was when I was 17 (I`m 35 now). I was told that contacts are good for those with very different vision in each eye (like me) because the lens sits right on the eye and the picture you see is the same size. Whereas with glasses, the picture I see with each eye is such a different size, it sometimes gives me headaches.

I`ve been wearing contact lenses every day for 24 years!!! My eyesight is exactly the same as when I was 17 and I am 41 now… so wearing contact lenses has kept my eyes the same for a long long time! : )

I don`t think wearing contact lenses makes your eye sight worse, you probably will just THINK it is worse, as you will be wearing your contacts all the time, then when you do take them out you will be like “”I frickin` can`t see!!”” whereas if you were wearing glasses you would probably take them off more often.
I have been wearing contacts full time for 3 years and my left eye has stayed stable, with only a minimal change in my right eye.
