Contact Confused

I wear glasses on a daily basis. I am wanting to try contacts but I am confused on what type of contacts I should get. I want ones that I can wear everyday for a long period as I’m tired of wearing glasses.

I am also interested in the Colourblends.

Thanks in advance for your help.

hey there thescarlettruby. I`m pretty sure the consultation is free – my Optometrist always bulk bills so that`s definitely a bonus.

The coloured contact I tried was just a sample to see if that particular shade worked for me. But once I realised that the coloured part is larger than my iris, and they gave me the smallest size, it was a bit of a no-no. This was a couple of years ago so my memory has faded of the brand, but I think it was AcuView. All the contacts I wear now are too big for my eyeballs, making them really hard to put on and they don`t always feel invisible like they`re supposed to.

Do you know of any brands that have smaller sized contact lens? I`d love to give them a go.

Oh fantastic! I will go and see my optometrist… (he is a bit cute too) so it is a fantastic excuse to perve.

    Thanks Bide!!!

They make contacts now that you can sleep in. I`m not sure if they are available in coloured contacts, but if you go to your optometrist they will show you all the different brands. If you`re due for an eye check up, ask them if you can take some samples with you to try in the comfort of your place – they`ll have a bunch of samples that are very similar to your prescription that you can try.

Don`t buy coloured contacts without trying them first! I once got blue contacts (I have brown eyes) only to discover my iris (coloured part of my eye) is smaller than the coloured contacts! So I had the blue/brown colour and a seeping blue colour. eep!
