Chemical straightening

Hi,
I have naturally straight hair. I never blowdry it (have never quite got the hang of getting it straight that way), but I let it dry naturally.
Like I said, it drys pretty much dead straight, but I use my GHD to get rid of some of the fluffyness and flyways.
I’m worried that straightening is drying out my already dry/coloured hair too much!
Can anyone who’s had it done tell me if chemial straightening will help in any way, or do you still get the “fluffy” look?

If its already straight maybe you could just use a serum for flyaways i always use the alphaparf one after i straighten it to stop the flyawaya and its really good, i used to use the john freida one to and this was pretty good.

Bella boo if you do decide to get it done make sure you go to a reputable salon as i have heard some serious horror stories!!

Aisha im glad it worked out well for u

I am going overseas in 2months and dont want to have to take my hair dryer or GHD. My hair is chemicaly coloured (bonde)and is wavy/curly/one big boof. Should I consider chemical straightening or are there any hair relaxer creams that work? Please help!

My friend`s cousin works in beauty and she straightened her hair. It went wavy and mostly frizzy since she`d actually dyed her hair before chemically straightening it.

I got my curly hair chemically straightened and it definately helps with those litlle frizzy bits, you can really notice when it starts growing out!

I`d avoid chemical straightening because as Sweet As mentioned chemical straightening is quite damaging and not really a permanent solution. Your best bet would be looking into products.

You should learn about a hair swirl/wrap. It is pretty much the in thing with people that have frizzy, coarse, curly hair….Everybody in South Africa does it at night to keep the hair straight…..You wrap your hair around your head and hold it down with a stocking. The stocking helps the hair in place, smooth, straight and sleek. Also see if you can get some olive oil and rub into your hair before using your GHD, it protects the hair. Chemical straightening will help but you dont need because the swirl/wrap will do……Need to find in your location someone that knows about African/American hair products…..Believe me you will never look back…..

using intense heat like straightening will damage your hair faster. With chemical straightening it doesn`t always work, your hair has to be suitable for it. if your hair is coloured it may damage it and not work, if it`s semi or non permanent it won`t have any effect. it might even make the fluffiness and fly aways worse so the fluffy look won`t go away. There`s also a lot of looking after you have to do as well. Have you tried just using a frizz free shampoo or serum or try using hair spary just a little to smooth out those fly aways. hope this helps.
