Burnt skin around nose & chin

In the past I’ve noticed when I use expensive and funnily enough ‘sensitive’ skin face cleansers and moisturizers, It burns the area around my nose (in the creases when my nostril ends and cheek start) and also on my chin. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if they had identified what the actual ingredient is that is causing it.

I find that there are a number of brands that claim they are good for sensitive skin, but the only thing they`ve really done is put in a “”special”” ingredient like aloe. This is a cheap way to grap a little more of the market. Go for something that is actually dermologically tested or go to a pharmacy. I find that pharmacies have skin care ranges that are not only reasonable, but the really do cater for sensitve skin. I talk from experience – after using Body Shop Body Butter I broke out into an all over body rash (one application and the rash lasted a month!). It was so uncomfortable – I haven`t used their products since.

Ooooouch sounds as though you a sensitive to the ingredients bucket this is my grammies home remedy and will have you looking your gorgeous self in no time!
Lavendula Oil is not only soothing is also used to take the sting out of many types of burns.

Simply mix 8 drops of pure lavender essential oil and to a carrier oil, like almond oil. Apply 3x a day your skin and watch it disappear!

I`ve had the same thing with some products years ago, almost like the products just stripped away any moisture I had left. Even with “”sensitive products”” you still need to be careful as if you have sensitive skin, there could be particular ingredients that you are allergic too, I know plenty of people who can`t use sensitive products as they are allergic. I would look at each ingredient in the products that is doing this to you and google that ingredient to see what it does.

I thought someone asked similar question before? Anyway, everyone reacts to different thing, so unfortunately you won`t know which exact ingredients you`re allergic to unless you ask your GP to do allergy test.

Do the cleansers and moisturizers you use contain salycilic acid/glycolic acid/AHA/BHA? They tend to burn the skin if it has high concentration of acid, if you leave them too long on the skin, or if your skin are not used to them. You have to introduce products with those “”acidic”” products slowly to your skincare routine. Example, use the cleanser once daily, after 1 week then do it twice/day, after 2 weeks use the moisturiser every other night, after 1 week of this then do it every night, do another week of the routine and then introduce it in the morning every other day, before finally use the day moisturiser every day. Hope it makes sense.

Another ingredient that`s could “”burn”” the skin is benzoyl peroxide.

Always remember that expensive does not equal good. Also note that definition for “”sensitive”” skin varies. You have to know the difference between “”sensitive”” and “”sensitized”” skin. Do search on Bh, there was a past article that tells you the difference.

That sounds horrific you must be alergic to something in the ingredients, you might have to keep an eye on what your using.
