Brazillian

Ok, I know there is already a discussion about these, but for some reason I cant see the posts. It’s something I’m curious to find out a little about.
I currently shave my bikkini area and I always and up with shaving rash or ingrown hairs or stubble a day or two later. I like the idea of removing a good amount of the hair, but am unsure exactly how much hair is removed and where from with a brazillian. I’m a little uncomfortable about the though of baring my all to an unknown woman! How is it done? I’m also curious to see if anyone does their own bikkini line with wax at home? Seems a bit scarey to me!

Tkm – you really do just get used to it! I used to be self-conscious, but honestly, bBetween going to doctors for pap smears and to have breast checks, to having waxes done – I no longer care about getting naked in front of professionals! You just get used to it I guess….!

Haha well said, you are very good at explaining and persuading even if that wasn`t your intention. 🙂
Thanks for the info, much more information then you`d get over the phone from the beauty parlor.

Damn….I`ve been meaning to get mine done for ages! Anyone know of any places in Hobart? Somewhere where I know the beauticians will do a decent job!

I generally find (and my beautician agrees with me) that waxing down there creates more ingrown hairs than shaving. because you are getting the hair at the root, the new hairs have to push through the skin, whereas with shaving they are just cut short.

Don`t be put off by getting it done, they see scores of women every day!

How do you tend to remove ingrowns? If there`s any chance? Do you use a normal ingrown products to remove help it eg. Nads, Moisturise and exfoliating is what I`ve been doing and it certianly does help, but just in case you know lol
Elmo- I didn`t know there were many types, I thought it was either a bikini or brazillian! Haha shaping it does sound a bit funny!

Hmm missmeow that`s what I thought too! Yeh well the wax doesn`t go on those precious areas!! And I agree with what you`ve said – I think it heightens sensitivity…

I think she means something else goes numb…. Actually it has been suggested that waxing can increase the sensitivity of your nether regions.

Happy sweetie what do you mean by numb? Do you mean does your skin go numb?? Or something else…

    Hi all,

Just a little worried, does all the waxing make people go a little `numb`…sorry it`s an embarrassing question but that`s proab holding me back from trying waxing at a salon as well as the pain….i`m a razor girl….

    cheers

Haha ok! Just some words of advice – don`t do it just before your period (that`s when your pain tolerance is at its lowest) – and pop a couple of nurofens before you go – it`ll help a little! And make sure you follow the instructions to exfoliate and moisturise the area to prevent ingrowns. Good luck meaghan ! 🙂
