Always use a concentrator nozzle and point the dryer at an angle so the air blow down the hair shaft.

Also My Hairdresser has told me not to use the hottest setting.. as this causes frizz and flyaways…. leave it on the 2nd setting.. (if you have 3)

    1. Towel Dry your Hair and separate your hair into groups of strands.
    2. Use a round brush (the one with bristles that go right round – like a corn cob :D!) Put it underneath one of your strands of hair.
    3. Take your hairdryer and put it on the top that strand.
    4. While blowing your hair dry in a downward motion, brush your hair in the same direction and motion as your hairdryer at the same time.
    5. Repeat for other strands of hair.

That`s how I saw my hair dresser style my hair – which is half straight and half wavy. I hope this makes sense…I tried to make it sound simple…

how curly is your hair. i have a natural wave in my hair and get good results. dry your hair, then start to straighten working in sections from the back. paddle brushes are essential. the problem you have with getting one side the same as the other is pretty common. it takes practice, so maybe allow more time to begin with and take smaller sections on that side. a good hair straighter is also beneficial even just for special occassions. i use a GHD and it just does the job perfectly, definately worth the $$$$$$.
also, make sure you have the appropriate products for the look you are trying to create.
There is also an article featured here – how to do a salon worthy blow dry – it was great and had a fab list of products.

I use a paddle brush (large flat brush) and I blow dry with that. I run the brush under my hair and point my hairdryer downwards as I move my brush through my hair (helps flatten the cuticle giving you smooth shiny hair) I find you have to play around to find a technique you are comfortable with – maybe get an appointment with your hairdresser so she/he can show you how to do it at home.
