Biggest Loser

Sorry it’s on as I type this – While I think it’s a great idea to encourage obese people to get healthy – I don’t think this show actually helps them in regards to their relationship with food. Obviously obese people have a bad relationship with food anyway – but the Biggest Loser just makes it a worse one. They have ‘games’ or ‘challenges’ that are food based – but they HAVE to eat crap to try and win (or lose whatever) I think it will have a negative effect when they get out of the house. Shouldn’t they be teaching them about nutrition and aiming the games around healthy food? They are there to lose weight – so why on Earth are they making them eat potato cakes and meat pies??? Surely that can’t be good for their emotional attachment to food. And then when the show is over many of them put back on weight because they aren’t taught how to keep it off long term!

i liked what they did last season with the at home contestants. they had to train and work and live alot more normally for the first part of the show and didn`t come into the white house until quite late and i think that is what got that young guy to the winners podium in the end.

Didn`t a contestant from the first show start doing commercials for Jenny Craig or Weightwatchers or one of the other slimming products. She states in the commercial something about it being too hard once the Biggest Loser finished. Ithink she may have been a finalist or got close to the end???

My partner and I enjoy watching the biggest losers, gosh they are getting free trainers free food free living etc. They have to go throu temptation so they know what they where eating was bad for them and when they get out on the outside and everytime they want that temptation they will say no cause that is what got them there in the first place. Lap band surgery is the next step and you can lose heaps of weight as long as you are mentally there and live on soup and milkshakes for a long time but some people actually still eat chocolate and drink wine etc so they are not mentally there and they won`t lose the wieght your doctor tell`s you can get it done so medically it`s fine to lose that weight.
It took alot to get that big and it will take alot to get skinny but it`s the price to pay to watch your kids growing up and being healthy.
I do agree with Biggest Loser and Lap Band etc cause I had to research it as my partners is 180+ kgs and works a physical job in consruction and works 60+ hours and its hard for him as he wants to be fit not work fit (all his work mates tell me he works harder and faster than them and they are all skinny :))
I can watch what he eats at home but not at work because he has to treat himself for his hard day at work
