back to school care kit

part of my new years reso is to be groomed and maintain my health when going back to school as well. it’s hard when you’re in a a rush in the mornings and when you get back it’s a lot of work to be done, especially in the senior years. just wondering, does anyone have a back to school kit/pack that keeps them well groomed and healthily maintained that they pack in their bags? it’s hard to fit just a few good handy things in the bag to do all the things when your bag is heavy and you’ve got a long way to travel to school. any suggestions?

I remember getting done for wearing makeup on more than one occasion (i only graduated 2005…. wait can i still say ‘only’……), I’d say makeup wipes, hand sanitiser, a nail file if you can have them (i know some schools are a bit iffy and won’t let you), sunscreen and hair ties/pins 🙂

I agree with Angieh90, a small bottle of Hand Sanitiser is great because there usually isn’t any soap in the toilets and I tend to lean on my hand a lot during class. Usually when I go to school, I take a couple of bobby pins, hair ties and sunscreen. It’s really important to reapply sunscreen, especially during summer.

thanks so much for the tips!
i will definitely be going to check out the body shop for products and going to myer/dj’s to ask for samples lol
haha sometimes i sleep through my alarm completely, there just seems like no motivation to get up.
btw, is there a sale at the body shop? i was at LAX’s body shop a few weeks ago and they had a little red bag you can buy for $5 and everything you put in it was 50% off, including sale items. it was a promotion to stop sex trafficking. i know they were having a fundraise for that last year in sydney but nothing was 50% off 🙁

I dont go to school anymore but I do have a new baby so I to know what it’s like to be rushing around and I can’t count the amount of time’s i leave the house with out deodorant on, make up or even brushing my hair so I have a little survival kit myself, bet things to have, tampon, mini eyeliner (because even if you forget your makeup a little bit of eyeliner can make a huge difference), mini deodorant, get one of the little sample perfume bottles they are cheep and great to have, a comb, coloured lip gloss and a lip balm, tissues and a hair-tie. you don’t need much just a few basics and none of these things are expensive to get.

When I went to school I used to always have a little bag in my school bag :). Mine had blot tissue paper (for those hot, sweaty days), some cotton tips (to touch up make-up), a few bobby pins, a hair elastic, a small fragrance spritz, lip balm with spf and a sample hand cream and foundation- you know all those little samples of hand cream and sometimes foundation in those teeny tiny little tubes that you get when you go to myer or priceline. I also had a few tissues, a tampon, and some pain relief tablets. Hope this helps a bit 🙂

Hey, sounds like a good resolution!
Not exactly sure on the health side of things, but how about one of those little travel packs from the chemist or grocery store that have an assortment of daily care products in them? There’s quite a variety, some with deodorant and toothpaste and such which would be good. And they’re small enough in handy little carry packs…?

I have a work pack that i have filled with alot of the items from a grocery store.. they really are very small bottles, sprays, etc… Just last week i purchased a 10 pack of swispers eye make up remover. i think its great! you dont want to be hauling a backpack to school filled with make up and grooming products so this would be great.. another place to try is the “Body Shop” they have alot of neat finds that will fit perfectly in your make up case leaving heaps of room for other things.

Try thinking of some double duty products to pack. You know things that have more than one use like creme blush that can be a lip colour or vice versa.
I’d probably go with a lip gloss, eyeliner, blotting tissues for a shiny face and some hair ties.Easiest to keep it simple and if you have had time to put mascara and foundation or powder on the morning you should be good to go.
I was always a chronic late getting up person until I realised that I really couldn’t stand the rush. Now I just set my alarm and have it on the other side of the room so that I have to get up to turn it off..plus I have set it to a really annoying beap that gets louder and faster as it goes on….it works for me1

I’m amazed that they could tell you were wearing a tinted sunblock! lol

Is this the kind of thing you mean?

I guess you could buy one, but it would be easy to put together your own. 🙂
