anyone found a whitening cream that doesn’t wreck your skin barrie

okay so I’ve been lurking on this forum for MONTHS but finally making an account bc I need to vent/ask lol. anyone else have skin that just… reacts to everything? I’ve tried like 4 different whitening creams in the past year and most of them either did nothing or left my face red and flaky for a week straight, not cute.

so backstory — I’ve got some stubborn pigmentation from bad sun habits in my 20s (no regrets just consequences lmao) and I finally slowed down and started actually patch testing before slathering stuff on my whole face. helped a ton tbh, wish I’d started that from day one instead of learning the hard way.

the thing that’s actually worked is layering a gentler whitening cream at night and just being consistent instead of chasing the newest product every 2 weeks. also drinking more water sounds dumb but my skin genuinely looks less dull when I’m not dehydrated lol
