I thought the movies were unnecessary, at least more than one. Now with this series, it just feels like we’ll never let this finish in peace and most times the best shows in history knew when to end. I feel like a lot of the character development from the original show has been completely obliterated in this new series. For example, they did such injustice to Steve and Miranda, although I enjoyed the way they portrayed Steve in the latest episode.
Anyway, I like some parts of this show but it is largely imperfect. I like that we get to continue with their story and see them age, but the rest is hard to watch.
Although this is an analogy with a book, I liken this to the character Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird. A character who has been revered by many over the years but went through a complete character assassination in the sequel, that probably was never intended to be published by the author after her death for good reason. Now that original legacy and goodwill in that character is forever tainted by the publication of the sequel. If you have not read it, never read it.
