I didnt bother watching it at all. I`m a big fan of the Aussie version and didnt think the Americans would be able to do it any justice. Curiostity did get the better of me a few weeks back after hearing all this terrible stuff about it and I stumbled accross the 1st episode on the net, so started watching………. and found it almost vomit worthy. The yanks just couldnt pull it off. And changing Kel`s name to Phil? Well, I think I only got through 10 min or so, before I simply couldnt take it anymore. Good on Magda for not selling out to the Americans, I dare say they would of been offering a fair bit of $$ to do so. I admire her all the more for that!

I didnt really like it either and I didnt really expect it to be that great honestly. I find knock offs of shows are never as great as the original no matter how hard the actors will try to recreate the feel of the show. I didnt find it funny and the jokes werent very unique at all.

when i found selma blair was going to be kim, i was shocked. selma blair is gorgeous, and kim is meant to be not hot! i didnt like it, i don`t think americans can pull off an aussie concept, just like we can`t quite get top gear right. we can`t imitate british humour.

Kath & Kim is funny because it is a bit wrong & ironic. Kimmie being a trophy wife and all… The US version is for the US I think what they have done is taken the concept of making fun of a certain demographic, (mall rats, i think), and americanized the characters & humour. Our version was the first and is the only one in my mind, nothing will come close.
PrettyPrincess thanks for clearing that up, I was wondering why Kim had no second best friend 🙂

Lets just hope they don`t slaughter AbFab in the same way
