Almost Graduated beauty therapist

Hello Beauty Heaven Forum
My name is Melissa I’m from Victoria and I’m currently completing Diploma in beauty therapy. I have been looking and applying for jobs but I have had no luck. I was wondering if anyone knows or is looking for a graduated beauty therapist. Also I have completed certificate 3. I am very hard worker also very friendly. I love the beauty industry and very passionate about my work. So if anyone could help me i would be very very thankful 🙂

Oh yes darl, definately this type of work experience is far more valuable than the WE you have to do compulsary at school, this shows them you are really keen and willing to work for free to get the job of your dreams, good luck 🙂

Yup totally agree with Elmo & Mel.

Doing voluntary work is a big bonus and always looks impressive on your resume. The fact that you have done unpaid work and given up time to do it, Employers will look at that and see you are keen and hard working. It is something many companies look for when employing someone. And there are many places that are more than happy to have people help out for free.

Best of Luck and let us know how you go xo

I definately agree with Elmo, just go in and work for free for a few hours a week at your local salon, even if it is just cleaning up it is still considered experience in the actual salon, then you will also be able to get a good reference from that salon also, good luck darl 🙂

Audrey maybe try doing some work experience at places? It`s bloody hard out there – I just missed out on a job because of lack of experience in that area – yet I`m trying to change industries so of course I have no experience! And it was an entry level position so it wasn`t unreasonable for me to work in it – I had the job experience needed – just not industry. It`s really tough out there – hope you get something soon! 🙂

Good luck Melissa! Just keep trying – keep trawling those job ads! It`s not an easy time to find jobs at the moment – you just have to keep at it! 🙂
