Affordable Antioxidant Serums?

I need to step up my anti-aging regimen and feel that i need an antioxidant serum. Tried to do some research and they all seem to cost an arm and a leg (Prevage, Skinceuticals, Priori, etc). Does anyone know of any good affordable (less than $100) antioxidant serum?

Thanks iluvfacialz 😀 I’m glad it works well for you. I’ll look into their other products too.

Melmeko, thanks for your advise about using a separate C and A serum. I think I might do just that. I’m already using tretinoin, and adding an A serum might be too much.

OMG, yes definitely darl, I use Retin-A in place of a Vitamin A serum these days, and use it at night, sounds like all you need is a good Vitamin C serum, which you would then use of a morning, the two shouldn’t be used together unless combined in a serum, the strength of two layered on top of each other could either cause a reaction to your skin or make them uneffective. There are some great Vitamin C serums around that are not overly expensive. I am using a really affordable one ATM by ASAP, it was the best one I could find for the best price 🙂

Had a look around online for the ASAP C serum, and was very happy with the price (60-ish) 😀 Thanks for suggestion.

Your welcome darl, prior to using that I tried the Ultraceuticals C Cream and the sheer version but I liked a serum better as it wasn’t as thick on my skin during the day, so I switched to the Alpha H C Serum which was awesome but then when I needed to replace it I found this one for cheaper still, is working just as well as the Alpha-H but it has a slightly more oily feel about it, but fortunately it disappears when I put it on my skin. I have oily skin already and I can vouch that it doesn’t make my skin any oilier 🙂

Yeah, I have oily skin and prefer serums too. They have more concentrated active ingredients and are perfect for layering on oily skin. Unfortunately, they’re more expensive too 🙁 The price we pay for beauty 😀

OMG You said it, haha. The joys of oily skin, it is a downright royal pain in the you know what. Products that work for everyone else leave us looking like we have jumped out of the deep fryer or something, grrrr. I hate waking up in the morning with a layer of grease on my face thanks to a rich heavy moisturiser or even worse, going to town on creating an awesome makeup look that your really happy with only to look in the mirror an hour later to see that shine already shining through, lol. It does sux, and it has taken me a lot of trial and error to find products that work for my skin over the years, more error than anything, lol but once I find something that works I normally stick with it because I don’t have all that many other options. Now while all that sounds bad, there is a plus side, those of us who are blessed with oily skin apparently age slower and age better, with far less wrinkles etc, which are more prone to our dry skin counterparts, hehe. I guess that is something good about it, lol.

I totally agree! I think the companies who make anti-ageing creams forget that even people with oily skin age too. Sometimes I break out because of their heavy creams. And even the most waterproof eyeliners and mascaras smear on my face when I get oily 🙁

I have been taken for a teenager (believe it or not!) a couple of times because I barely have any lines on my face. But I also think it’s because I still break out like a teenager every now and then sigh you can’t have everything I guess.

I did have a facial for Mothers Day last year and they used all Emerginc products. They smell amazing and my skin felt great afterwards. I would definately give them a go.

    All under $100 🙂

Thanks Melmeko. I checked out the websites and the EmerginC appeals to me most. Have you personally tried this serum?

Ahh not that one darl, have tried numerous of Emerginc products though and found them to be really impressive. I would have no second thoughts about using it, although in my regime I use a separate C and A serum so I don’t need a combined antioxidant serum for my routine. I can definitely vouch for the brand though, very good quality 🙂
