advantan ointment

Hi sbeez – I have been prescribed Advantage Ointment as I too occasionally get a rash or itch on my face or other parts of my body. The ointment helps me get rid of the horrible itch immediately and after a few days the rash is also gone. I have a Nickel allergy but not only from nickel in jewellery but also from nickel in foods, especially shell fish like prawns, lobster or mussels. I know this thread is a few years old but I thought I`d add my comment anyway as I had only just discovered your plea for help 🙂

Now I know that I`m not developing an immunity to it and its just me putting on hand creams before i use advantan! Im suprised I have eczema, wow, real shock…my gosh…and Ive been using that cream for ages! Why did i never read the pamphlet?!

sbeez, advantan is a cortisone based cream used for the treatment of eczema. I use it and find it to be very effective, but everyone is different. Just be careful about what other creams, lotions, soaps you put on your skin while using it, because if you are putting something on the skin which is irritating it (like a hand cream on your fingers) you won`t really give the advantan a chance to work properly.

hmmm….i think i might have an eczema but im not sure which one!
