2011 Colour predictions…..

Hi all,

I recently underwent a massive hair colour change going from white blonde to a dark chocolate, this has however left me unhappy with this choice not giving me the satisfaction I thought it would. So I’m looking for another change. Which brings me to what do you believe are the hair colour trends that will plauge us all in 2011???

I just looked at some pictures of dark chocolate and caramel I love it, but i dont think it would match my skin tone. I’m rather pale and I also go red in the face very often. So I’m worried about having warm tones in my hair. I always go into a hairdressers and try and get an honest opinon on what they believe will look good however I find that all of them dont do this.

It sounds like you have a similar skin tone to me. I’m rather pale and have pink/red undertones. Did they advise you against going really dark? I find my complexion looks really bad when I do. My hair is naturally light brown but I dye it a lot darker. My highlights are a sort of caramel I think, but they aren’t particularly warm as my colourist advised me against those shades. Overall my colour is rather cool, which can sometimes border on the dull, but at least it suits me.

That is quite a big change, I’ve never done anything quite so drastic before. The caramel tones sounds really good to me as well.

I want to try something new with my hair too. At the moment it’s a cool dark brown, with a veil of caramel blonde bits, which are very subtle. It’s a good low maintenance look, and it sort of blends in with my regrowth. But I don’t really like getting the same look twice in a row. My skin tone doesn’t really suit ‘warm’ shades, so that leaves me with a lot fewer options.

I agree with Rox, definitely dark chocolate with caramel tones.

I read in a recent beauty article that caramel is going to be big in 2011. You could highlight your dark chocolate hair with caramel tones.
