why do we have to track replies to our forum manually? why don’t we get email notification?

Is there an option in MyBeautyheaven where you can just pull up Forum topics you’ve started??

Most of my Forum topics that I start are questions that I’m asking … or I’m asking for recommendations for certain things … I always have to scroll through my loooong list of activity to find what Im’ looking for … or to see if any beauties have answered me???!

That’s definitely a feature I’d be over the moon for! 🙂

the quickest way is to go through ‘posts’ when your in your beautyheaven tab.. you still have to scroll, but its quicker than going through comments, reviews and forum posts!

Haha thanks Tinaaa … I do that now … it’s still too long for me coz I like to blabber alot here on the forums! Hehehe .. but YES your right … it is shorter than going through the activity list.

PS – I don’t think email notifications are a bad idea??! As long as your given the option to turn them OFF if you want! Then those that want them can have them … those that don’t want them have that option too. I personally would like them on forum topics that I myself start, obviously coz they’d be topics I’m VERY interested in … and it’d save me scrolling through my activity list, or posts list (which is usually VERY VERY long lol) to find what I’m looking for! Or I don’t waste my time looking only to find that NO ONE has responded! hahaha.

Hey, just one other thing….
If you go into your My bh page and click on My posts on the left hand side you can jump into the posts you’ve commented on to see what chat it happening. For the time being this is a fairly easy way to keep track of the conversations you’ve participated in.

This is something we have had on the agenda for a while and I’m pretty sure it will be implemented this year. Thanks for your post beautystar, it’s useful in helping us determine what works best.

I think it depends on which type of forum you started on as to what you prefer. M first forum experience was with the lush for and they had email notifications (which were optional so you could opt out) and i found them very useful. It meant that I didnt have to leave the forum open all the time to follow conversations. You only got one notification per thread until you checked it ie if you responded to a thread then when out for the arvo and 50 people then responded there was only one email for you…but then if you had responded to 50 threads there could be 50 emails waiting for you. The subject of the email would have the title of th thread in it so you could decide whether you wanted to clinck in or not and when you clicked on the link it took you straight to part of the thread where you last replied so you didnt have to sift through it to rejoin the conversation – that would be really useful for threads like the trial team one that are 400 pages long.

At the end of the of each thread there was a box you could tick to subscribe to thread replies – so you could be generally unsubscribed but if there was a thread you were particularly interested in you could just get notifications on that one, or vice versa you could subscribe to everything you reply to but if a thread has gotten out of hand or you are no longer interested in you could very easily opt out.

I know you can follow whats happening on Mybeautyheaven but for some reason i rarely think to do that unless i really want to see a response. I tend to just click into the most recent replies tab and scroll through until i start recognising replies. This is good in a way in that it means i read most threads – rather than just seeing the list of thread titles but not actually clickling in. But then if there has beena heap of activity sometimes i can click through 10 pages of most recent and still not get back to where i was up to.

As long as the system has the ability to opt out for those who arent interested I think it is really useful. For those who dont subscribe to email notifications it should run exactly as it does now but having the feature would be a useful addition to those who are used to thhese type of forums.

Golly gosh…..I’d go insane if my emails were bombarded by BH with replies to any comments I had made. Thank goodness that WON’t be happening .
It’s so easy to keep up to date with your posts on your MY BEAUTYHEAVEN (next to Log In). That’s how everyone keeps up with where to go all the time.
