Problems Posting

I’ve been having some trouble posting replies on some (not all, which is odd) forum topics. I post the reply but it shows up on a different thread, not the one I was on and replying to. This is a tad annoying and strange cos it’s only on one thread at the moment (hot or not one). I’m on a pc using explorer 8 if this helps.

    Hi Matt,
Don’t mean to bombard you but is there any chance you guys would consider a better forum system altogether? Something like this is so user friendly.

It allows for when reading a thread to click a little coloured box next to each thread and it takes you to the first message YOU have not read in that thread, not the last post made. Once you have read that thread, the box changes colour. New messages in that thread change it back to a darker colour so you know there are new messages

If people want to respond to specific posts, they can click on the reply and it will quote that message but still take the response to a chronological order. You can even multi quote different people, so that you aren’t making post after post.

Rather than having to search through pages within a thread to find a response someone has made to me days ago. Even though i can see their response on the Latest section, it can be time consuming trying to find it within a thread, particularly fast moving threads.

The little icon next to threads also shows up differently to threads you have posted in.

The picture orientation is wrong, side ways. i wanted to delete and upload a different one. But I couldn’t. I do not have issues with other posts. Can you assist?

One other issue raised was the inability to search on mobile devices for forum topics.

    Hi Matt,

There has been a discussion on the technical difficulties on beauty heaven. See this thread

    http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/forums/talkback/forums-getting-cluttered-with-useless-posts?page=2#comment-2726071

One other issue many others have asked is how do we go to a new comment? As the order of the thread is not in chronological order, we often have to go through several pages to find the latest replies on a thread we follow.

All these technical faults are time consuming /frustrating. and many just give up, resulting in less participation.

Hope you and your team are able to make some improvements.

    Best regards,

    Hi Matt,

    Testing In Chrome -failed

    Testing in Safari – failed

No idea on the file size, I am using an iPhone 6 plus, it is the default settings of my camera on the phone.

Is there a file size restriction? Can you advise us how we can do easy uploads without having to send to the computer to resize? Many ladies here on the forum have issues uploading photos. I am aware many surf beauty heaven on their smartphones or tablets.

For user friendliness, is it possible to increase the size cap on files, the website resizes the photo to a smaller size anyway. Thanks for looking into it.

There are a few other glitches on the site, let me get back to you once I have a better picture.

Ok. I’ll try to do it now. Maybe I’ll post on the phone first and then log in from my laptop and see how I go. I’ll be checking out that thread now! Thanks for being so helpful, Misfortune8 🙂

Not a posting problem but since this thread is active, I thought I’d post here.

My profile pic is bothering me! My face is cut and it just looks weird! I’m not able to resize and adjust my image. When I change it to another selfie, the photo comes up horizontal after uploading and I can’t fix it. I have to post from my phone because here is where I have all my photos. I may change it to something smaller and generic that fits the little space well.

    Hey hey,
Just the tech guys here with a bit more clarity on this one.

When you post a comment or reply on a forum thread the button initially will say “POST MY COMMENT”, when you click the button and the web browser has actually registered that you clicked it, the text on the button will change to “POSTING COMMENT …” at this point it is a near certainty that this comment has been pushed to the server, and then its just a matter of waiting for the page to reload and you can continue on your way.

Furthermore we can see that the “hand” icon does not appear on Internet Explorer when you roll over the button as it should for links, we recommend using chrome rather than IE (Internet Explorer) as IE is not standards compliant and is known to have serious compatibility issues especially in the older versions.

If you are still experiencing an issue with the POST button, please report back with your browser type and version so we can see what the problem is.

    Thanks
