Is there a way to scroll through all reviews lodged by a BH member?

After being away from BH for a little while, I’m getting my head around the changes and how things work and I’m wondering: Is there a way to click in to the full list of someone’s reviews?

There used to be, years and years ago, under the avatar and under the “member since” text, where it lists “134 reviews” for example, in blue and underlined text, you could click on this and it would take you to the full list of 134 reviews completed by that person.

It was so helpful when you found a person with similar product interests who’d reviewed something you use to then see what other products they use and what they thought about them.

Has this function been removed?

I remember that function too and it was great being able to click and access the reviews of a particular member whose reviews I knew were of good quality and were likely to give honest feedback which I valued.

It was removed quite a while ago.

I miss that function too. I am not a fan of the word limit, especially for trial team products. I don’t need a detailed description of the packaging, colours ect when I can look at a photo of the product and see it for myself. Succinct reviews my personal favourites 🙂

Exactly !! When people go on and on I just skim to the good stuff . Sometimes that`s only one paragraph long to tell me just what I need to hear

Oh my gosh Katieloves – so true! Getting to the nitty gritty while hitting the word count and without losing your audience is a fine art. Some people do it so well!

I’ve got a few reviewers I favour & a few I downright avoid (I won’t quote usernames!). I wish I could specifically select reviews by certain members too. When you find someone who matches your age &/or skin type &/or hair type, you want to find out what else works or doesn’t work for them.

Ugh even if we could just filter reviews by specific traits in common (i.e. “”only see reviews from members who are listed as having dry skin””).

So true NellAdams – a function like this would be so handy!

All beauty review sites have these basic features, age group, skin type, complexion type (fair, tan etc) hair type and for the three years I’ve been a member I’ve continually suggested it but it falls on deaf ears. Maybe now there’s some new staff and new directions maybe someone will implement it.

Hey what a great idea NellAdams!

My thoughts exactly misfortune8 – when you find your soul sisters in BH you want to have what they’re having. I bought a few products back in the day purely because I’d be scrolling through my favourite reviewers’ reviews and see something they called their holy grail.

    I don’t think so!

Femalesnape do you think it would be a function you would use if it existed?

I was wondering about this as well! That function was before my time as a member, I agree that the idea behind it was great! It would be very handy to be able to scroll through all the reviews submitted by a member with similar tastes, preferences and similar skin/hair types etc, being able to see the full list in one spot of all their tried products so far would be useful!
It does make it a little more difficult judging whether a product will be a good match for you or not when you can’t see or know whether the person reviewing has the same/similar concerns/requirements, especially if they don’t state that in their review.
I understand why the function was taken away, the concern for privacy is understandable.
I try to keep an eye out for reviews done by members I trust, it is hard when you can’t access all the reviews in the one option but if I see a review done by them I will read it to see their thoughts.

It really was a great function Amazeballs – but it was also back in the time when there wasn’t a word limit for reviews and there used to be some very sketchy reviews left with sometimes 10 words. And then you’d come across these 100+ word reviews with such vivid descriptions… of course you’d want to see what else they’d taken the time to write about. The overall quality of reviews are much better these days, but I’d still love if this function was brought back!

    Hi Girl789,

Like ray_jay said it was removed! It was a good function I agree!

It was a good function, but it also cost me a lot of money back in the day haha. I used to scroll through review after review of some people and go straight out and buy the products they raved about. So while I’m hopeful they bring it back, I also think my hip-pocket would prefer that they didn’t…!

    Hey
    Welcome back.

    I remember this function too.

It’s been removed a few years ago.

I think ppl complained re privacy etc.

I’m not sure how else to look it up.

Thanks ray_jay – good to know I wasn’t imagining it! Interesting about the privacy aspect, being that the reviews are all there to be read anyway… I think it can be good to avoid the fluff sometimes to just jump straight to reviews of those you trust. Speaking of which – MASSIVE CONGRATS on reaching 1000! That’s amazing 😀
