HOW TO: Get The Direct Link To Your Beautyheaven Review

Do you want to post the DIRECT link of your Beautyheaven review on your blog or send the link to your friend? Giving the product link & mentioning which page your review appears on doesn’t help when more reviews are written & your review gets bumped to a different page.

You need to obtain the review number. I’m not a techie, I’ve taught myself this through trial & error. This is harder than getting the link to a specific beautyheaven forum post or article comment (See my tutorial here: http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/forums/techie-talk/how-to-get-the-direct-link-to-a-comment-on-the-beautyheaven-forum).

If AliceJane or any other tech whiz can explain this better or more simply, please help me out. Perhaps you’re laughing at how complicated this is when there’s a simpler method I don’t know about.

I generally use Internet Explorer on my dinosaur desktop computer.

  • Go to the beautyheaven page your review is on.
  • Copy the URL of the page, delete info about page number. Use your regular note taking program (I use sticky notes computer program) or use a pen & paper if you’re not tech savvy. The URL should look similar to this: http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/make-up/eye-shadow/product/eye-studio-color-tattoo-24h-leather-eyeshadow (Link doesn’t show in it’s entirety. Highlight then right click to open in new tab or window).
  • (HARD BIT! Don’t give up!) Take note of the last few words of your review, eg. “take care with Chocolate Suede”
  • Right click & select “View source” OR click F12 & select “Debugger” at the top of the page that opens. The scary looking page should look like this, pictured below. Stop crying, it is not too hard!

Now add # followed by your review number to the product’s URL that you took note of earlier. It should look like this:

http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/make-up/eye-shadow/product/eye-studio-color-tattoo-24h-leather-eyeshadow#1066031 (Link doesn’t show in it’s entirety. see below).

I wish it were that simple Sugar!

If the last few words of your review produce too many hits, another method is to count down the product page to see where your review falls on the page, eg third, seventh. Then type “was this review useful” into the search box on the F12 page. You can then count down the highlighted results to the third or seventh result to find your review number.

It would be better if we could get the review number when we click on the review from the “My Reviews” section on our profile pages. This didn’t work. 🙁

clap clap clap clap clap clap!

Well done misfortune. And thanks for the effort.

I just thought you copy the link and paste it! Obviously that’s not it since it’ll open up to the page with everyone’s reviews. Haha.

    I’m exhausted!

That took SO much editing for the pictures to be legible!

After the highlighted text of the last few words of your review, you should see a line that looks like this:

    was-this-review-useful-1066031

That number at the end is your review number!

What were the last few words of your review? You probably won’t be able to find them on this page, so type them into the search box on the top right of the page, indicated by the red arrow. Your text should now be highlighted, enabling you to find it.
