Skindinavia setting spray, original
Nivea soy complex day cream
Nivea soy complex night cream
Hirodoid cream which I use for dark circles
Jordana best lash extreme
I can attest to this. It has been a common problem with the Amazonian clay based range. Happened to me with the powder compact and the blush.
Frenchy1, thanks for the feedback about the Tarte blushes. I've been tempted by some of their other shades, but now I won't bother wasting my money.
That's annoying. I also have a mini of the Dandelion and the other similar shades. Never thought to review them. I can not finish it though so kudos to you Petal.
Ethelinde, it's a pity that Benefit has left beautyheaven. I would have given Dandelion a good review.
Empties that I started a long time ago ...
Body care products
Lux Aestiva Wildflower Oil Body: I only used half the bottle because I really disliked the scent which reminded me of a curry. The scent is probably from the turmeric root. If I applied the oil at night, I could still smell it the next day.
Pure Fiji Hydrating Body Mist in Mango and Nourishing Exotic Oil in Mango: These products smelled like mango, but there was no sweetness. The body mist smelled faint on my skin, but the oil had a stronger scent and much better longevity. I recently had to discard the oil because it was very gritty. Maybe this was due to the cold weather.
Andalou Sensitive 1000 Roses Soothing Body Lotion:
OMG! I love a curry, but nobody wants to smell it on their skin! Ew!
Body care products part two
The following are all body/hand washes that I used up last year and this year:
SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Hydrating Body Wash:
Oil Garden Body Wash Focus & Clarity:
Oil Garden Body Wash Energise & Rejuvenate:
Glow Lab Amber & Sage Hand Wash:
That Glow Lab hand wash smells divine! I love it, too!
Body care products part three
Andalou Mandarin Vanilla Vitalising Shower Gel:
Andalou Sensitive 1000 Roses Soothing Shower Gel:
Andalou Citrus Sunflower Uplifting Shower Gel:
A’kin Lavender Body Wash:
Sukin Naturals Botanical Body Wash - Ylang Ylang & Cedar:
Sukin Cleansing Hand Wash in Bergamot & Patchouli:
Before anyone asks me why I used up so many hand and body washes (even though it was over a large time period) ... If I did not like one of them, I'd use it up as a shampoo, a makeup brush cleaner or for washing the dishes. Also, a few of the products were a small size.
Oh you are funny. I've used products I don't like for other things too. Very creative. I hope you didn't use the curry smelling one as shampoo!
Trying new shower gels is so much fun, I can't get enough of them, but their is so much to use up if you get sick of one or don't like it..
Thats the easiest way to tell if you're not sure if you like something or not. If you accidentally on purpose pour too much out (to get through it faster).
I think the Andalou Rose range beautiful. I have only tried a few of the face range. I call it the budget conscious Jurlique because the rose scent they both use is similar.
Almost 1/2 way through July & I still haven't posted my June empties! Oh well, better late than never. That said, there isn't much & at my current rate there'll be even less next month (have only finished 1 thing so far this month & technically it isn't even finished as I've put the contents in with something else).
Glow Lab Coconut & Spiced Fig Hand Wash (refill - now have 3 of them, have kept buying them when on sale)
Essano Vitamin C Brightening Eye Gel
Colgate Tartar Control Dental Floss
OTHERS + 1 CHUCK-OUT
Only Good Hand Cream + Facial Mist - I'm grouping these together for a good reason. This will be a real tl;dr read, just warning you.
In these 2 products, I've found products that have really helped with my skin as the seasons changed & my skin began its annual hissy fit.....buuuuuuuuut....Only Good have now discontinued their entire skincare line, including these products, which has led me to go hunting in every Priceline store I've come across in recent months (not doing any of that rn because of lockdown though, but might resume that once we get out of it). Kicking myself for not trying them sooner tbh.
So, I ended up passing on feedback around the beginning of June to Only Good extolling my love of both products & although the hand cream had apparently sold out on their website (bummer), the customer service lady I dealt with promised to send me out some more of their facial mist. Cue crickets for 3 weeks before I sent a follow-up email to enquire as to where the facial mists were, she promised to get in touch with their Australian distributor to find out what was going on; then just before Sydney went into lockdown I finally receive a package....of their micellar water instead. Kind gesture sure, but 12 bottles of micellar water wasn't what I'd envisaged rocking up to my door. Again, I contacted them to ask why this has occurred and again, crickets. I admit that they don't owe me anything else as a customer - after all, I got this stuff for free - however, when you're told you're going to receive one thing that you really like & end up with something you neither want nor will use....yeah, it's left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Sorrynotsorry for feeling that way.
Anyway, I'm currently squirrelling the 1 hand cream I have left & I'm using up the facial mist. The search for alternatives will continue in the months to come, but for now, at least 8 of the 12 micellar waters are going in my Share The Dignity bags this year. As for the rest, God only knows what I'll do with them!
HartCo Salted Caramel large candle - hoooooooo boy, glad I bought this guy, even if I bought him about a year ago & didn't get around to burning it until the colder weather began to kick in. If you're a lover of salted caramel, or just gourmand scents, then you're going to love this scent. It's warm, inviting, slightly burnt/toasty, but absolutely delicious & divine. It's one of those candles you want to eat rather than burn. I will repurchase it at some stage, maybe before next winter (have a tonne of other candles to burn through first, as usual).
HartCo Black Raspberry & Vanilla large candle - have burnt this one before, I still enjoy it, although I think the scent lost a bit of oomph the longer I kept it. Anyway, I still like it, it's a nice tart fruity scent, will repurchase.
Picture Polish Top n Base - I used this solely as a base coat; it's not bad for a standard base coat. It might look empty in the pic, but it actually has a small amount left on the bottom....a small amount that I've tried using up, but its rather thick even though I keep thinning it out. I cba thinning it out anymore, not when I have a brand new bottle to use.
It's a bugger when your favourite products get discontinued. Update us if you receive another package - fingers crossed, Seashells!
The HartCo candles sound lovely! There aren't many retailers in NSW, & I'm certainly not trekking out to Fairfield (closest according to their website map) for the foreseeable future. I'll have to remember to check them out when it's safe.
I doubt I will mis8, but thankfully for me I know where all those unwanted micellar waters will go.
Just took a quick squiz at the HartCo site, looks like there's a stockist at Narellan, which is relatively close (although not within a 10km radius). Couldn't see a Fairfield location listed on there. Luckily for me, I know what most of their candles smell like as I checked them out when I was last in Melbourne, so I'm set.
July Skincare Empties
tbh acne hack cleanser
Review above was written in the warmer months. Found this to be a bit drying for winter use for my skin condition at the moment.
Essano Rosehip Certified Organic Mist Toner
A nice mist toner with a fine spray, made in NZ. The formula contains Aloe Vera Juice, Kakadu Plum Extract, Witch Hazel, Green Tea Extract, Rosehip Oil, Glycerin. It has fragrance but is barely detectable.
This is my second mist toner, the first being the Sukin hydrating mist toner. The spray nozzle on this essano product gives a finer spray in comparison, and I find it to be a little more hydrating than the Sukin. Still, it's not as hydrating as some other hydrating toners I have, the amount of rosehip oil and glycerin included are not enough for me to notice their existence, and I already use a dedicated higher percentage vitamin C serum. Is it better than spraying water on your face? Yes, it's definitely more hydrating than that. I do find it has it uses, such as spraying after hyaluronic acid serums to provider water for the HA to bind to.
My original review on this product is gone from BH since the listing has been replaced by a newer version of the product with slight formula tweak.
Boost Lab 2D Hyaluronic Acid Hydro Boost Serum
Enjoyed using this to the last drop.
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Day Cream
Got this as a sample from Jurlique a couple of years ago, and it has already been discontinued. A very pleasant day cream, moisturising and non-greasy, layers well under sunscreen. Even though I generally prefer fragrance-free, the scent of this was beautiful and not overpowering and I looked forward to applying it. In terms of formula it was mainly plant extracts and plant oils.
I loved the 2D too, jupiter.
Lovely little gloss from Burt's bee. I've always used their lip balms in the past.
So my feet are always super cracked. Especially during the winter time it's cracked and it hurts when I walk. So I was super excited to try this. I use this at night time just before bed.
