Ive started my Christmas shopping!

My funds are super limited this year as I have now been medically retired. I do try and collect bits and pieces through the year when I see just the right thing but with everything going on in my personal life I am way behind.

I managed to score a gorgeous GWP hand wash when I bought a trio of mini candles from Glasshouse. I will split the 3 and with the hand wash that is 4 beautifully scented pressies!

I have 3 sons that are all in their own homes and have partners so I’m going to put together a gift box for each of them with household treats – Gourmet chocolate, linen tea towels and the candles so looking forward to lots of online searching for goodies!

Before I can even think of Christmas, I have to wade through all the birthdays of grandkids, family and friends first. September through to November has so many birthdays.

Thankfully don’t have to buy too much at Christmas as our kids get $ and the grandkids get some toys to play with.

I don’t buy for many people at Christmas, just a few close friends and nephew/nieces who are really too old for presents now anyway.

Am going to tell my parents and in laws not to buy anything for myself or my husband this year as we don’t need, want or have room at home for anything. Just happy to have a few days off work at Christmas really…

Wow ladylola, you are getting ready early! I usually start shopping early as well, little bits and pieces here and there as I see them on special etc, usually start very slowly picking prezzies september/october, I find it’s easier than one huge last minute buy, it’s easier to get all things on list (and not such a big lump sum, space it out into smaller ones).

I don’t even start thinking about Christmas until December unless it’s to make plans for a holiday over the Christmas/New Year period. All my shopping is done in December.

That’s a great idea LadyLola , I usually start in October , never leave it for the last minute , I find it too stressful .

Part of the joy of Christmas for me is shopping at Christmas time so I wait till December each year.

I’m still trying to sort out the bulk of birthdays happening at the moment and Father’s Day coming up. Will start thinking about Christmas around November haha but it’s really awesome to hear that everyone else is so organised and on top of it!

I just wanted to say it’s NEVER too late to start thinking about Christmas – it’s the best time of the year!

I used to buy things throughout the year & put them away for Christmas. Now, my nieces & nephews mostly prefer cash, which is too easy.

I’ve got a new great-nephew, so I’ll have to make him a customised bauble with his name & 1st Xmas year on it, as I’ve done for all my nieces, nephews & friends’ kids.

I start early too!! I make piles for each person haha! There are just so many people … Plus Christmas is holiday time so I need extra cash if possible at this time!
Candles are good! Myer has big sales. I got some full sized circa home ones for $15! I look out for bargains all the time really and then add them to a pile’ I like to have a bit of a stash incase of a bday at short notice !
