Happy Valentine’s Day BH & BC Staff & Members

I’m from Italian background so my not Italian husband had to be at my parents at 5am to provide the muscle to make tomato sauce. He was exhausted but still surprised me that night with a bottle of wine that has the same name as me!

My husband and I went to a local cafe yesterday (Valentines) for lunch. We hadn’t been there before and they weren’t taking bookings, so when we turned up it was very crowded and we were unsure whether to wait or not. Just as we were about to leave a table became available in their courtyard, right in the back corner, so it was fairly private. The staff were absolutely beautiful – all happy and smiling (even though they were run off their feet), and all very efficient. We were attended to quickly, the food and coffees were unbelievably good, the price reasonable, and to top it off we were sitting alongside a star jasmine hedge, so every time there was a slight breeze, a shower of blooms ‘rained’ on us. We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We usually don’t make a fuss on Valentine’s Day, but this year it turned out to be a very special day.

Happy Valentines and also Happy Chinese New Year ( Gung He Fat Choy ) to everyone wishing all a safe and prosperous 2021 which this year is the Ox ! Red is also a lucky colour which matches both the occasion .

I would have been spending the day alone but I have my youngest daughter here. I picked her up from the airport in brisbane late last night. She is here for a funeral so not a great reason but its still lovely to see her. We are getting charcoal chicken for dinner tonight as its one of her favorites. She is coming with me to work in the morningand waiting until ive finished my first shift and then im dropping her at her friends place and they will make their way to the funeral. She will stay with her friend tomorrow night as they are flying back out first thing Tuesday morning and as I have to work I cant take her to the airport.

We are having a takeaway today, we can’t go out because of the lockdown.

Anyone doing anything special for Valentines Day? Hubby and I have no plans today.
