There are so many people now getting involved with the massive fires in Australia bu so sad to not see any of the huge mining companies stepping up, even offering their equipment would help make a difference.

Today is another smoky day in the Illawarra area with smoke over the ocean and the glow of the fires on the Southern highlands.

I`m sure more could be done, but I did read recently that “”Twiggy”” Forrest, iron ore mining magnate donated $70 million including $10 million to pay for workers to help in some affected areas.
Some of the most wealthy, including Gina Rinehart, donate preferring to be anonymous. Hopefully money is going where it is most needed.

That is really good news. We all hope there is a sensible and logical way to allocate the donations and that it is not eaten up by administrators of this money.

Agree! I hope it goes where needed but also that everyone gets something and no-one is missed.

Another website has put together a list of all the fashion related donations you can do by buying their items (it’s a good way for brands who don’t have liquidity (spare money) to donate but have a lot of stock).

    Win/win (the sharing economy)

There’s a huge KFE Market on 11 January starting at 9am at Intercontinental Double Bay, Sydney at 9am (where the DB markets are held every Thursday)

Tons of brands are involved (with items), there will be food/drinks and even a DJ.

All with donated items towards the fundraising!

Too many brands to list, but if you want to check out more details her instagram is Kristin.fisher.eyebrows

The original members of The Wiggles are getting together to do a concert, with all proceeds going to Red Cross. It’s an Over18s concert at Castle Hill RSL (Sydney) on 17th and 18th January (next weekend). But it’s sold out already.
I wish they would do one here in Melbourne because I’d desperately love to go.

My boys loved The Wiggles. We’ve been to lots of their concerts over the years. They were always fun.

That would be so cool to go to, they need to come to Perth ! . I used to tell my kids I had a crush on Murray because he was red hot! He`s looking quite funky these days with long hair. Over 18s concert , wooo – Yummy Yummy.

Mecca put on their Instagram page that they were donating $100,000 to Red Cross.

Thirty of Sydney’s Best Chefs Have Banded Together for a Fundraising Brunch and Bake Sale to Raise Money for Bushfire Victims at Nomad Up the Road, Surry Hills

    From their site:

The situation our beautiful country is going through right now is completely heartbreaking. To do our small part, we have teamed up with some of Sydney’s best restaurants and will be “Cooking for the Bush”.

Join us on Sunday the 12th of January and help us raise money for the Red Cross. All produce and everyone’s time is being donated so all funds will go to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal.

Chefs from many of Sydney’s best restaurants will be working to create a unique brunch menu for this event. We had so many chefs keen to help we ran out of room in the kitchen so we will also be running a take-away bake sale.

Many of the restaurants that are working with us have also, very kindly, donated vouchers for special experiences. If you can’t make it on Sunday but are keen to contribute, bid in our silent auction. We are still putting together the auction page on the website, check backk soon. Have an amazing food experience and help a family in need.

We’ll be setting up a kid’s corner so feel free to bring the whole family.

So, join us for brunch and mimosas, a take away treat or just pop in to say hello.

We hope to see you soon.
