BH Competitions

Hi Beauties,

Does anyone know how the BH competitions are picked at all?
Are they random, 1st in best dressed? do they look at comments etc? I’ve been applying for years and never won anything so just curious LOL. I’m assuming there are thousands of BH members that apply so that may be it and there is no real way of how they pick the winners?

    I am pretty sure it’s random unless there’s requirements attached to that specific comp e.g.. platinum members only, response to a specific question and so may be judged based on merit

    Having said that, I have been extremely lucky and fortunate winning comps in such a short span of time joining BH (so I do feel a little guilty too). I’ve won a new member prize, Juliette Armand prize pack and won a goody bag from the Facebook BH 10 comp! I don’t enter all the comps either, only ones I’m actually interested in 🙂

    Do you think platinum members get picked more often?

    Ive copied the terms and conditions here for you – but it doesnt say how they are picked to be honest

    Prizes, gifts and giveaways
    20. Subject to any specific terms that are displayed with any prizes, gifts or giveaways at the time they are offered, displayed or advertised, when prizes, gifts or giveaways are offered, displayed or advertised on the Website, to the full extent permitted by law:

    a. we may withdraw the offer of the prizes, gifts or giveaways at any time prior to the time the recipient is to be drawn or otherwise determined, without notice to you, in the event that we are, for any reason, unable to supply the prizes, gifts or giveaways;

    b. we will not be liable under any circumstances for any cost, loss or damage of any kind as a consequence of the withdrawal of the prizes, gifts or giveaways;

    c. if we are unable to supply the exact prizes, gifts or giveaways offered, displayed or advertised to you for any reason, we may supply in their place alternative items of a similar nature and value and supply of the alternative items will be in complete satisfaction of our obligation to you in respect of the prizes, gifts or giveaways. We will not be liable under any circumstances for any cost, loss or damage of any kind as a consequence of the supply of the alternative items.

    1. If you receive a prize, gift, giveaway or Trial Team product, you must not on-sell or profiteer from such prize, gift, giveaway or product. Failure to comply may result in exclusion from future competitions, giveaways and Trial Teams.

    2. Beautyheaven members participate in Trial Teams, sampling and events on a voluntary basis to provide honest feedback to the beautyheaven community about a product or treatment. All care is taken to ensure the correct products and treatments are provided for each Member’s specified skin and hair conditions, however no responsibility is taken for adverse reactions or unsatisfactory results. While we facilitate arrangements between beautyheaven members and brands, products and treatments are supplied by the Australian distributors or provider of the participating product or treatment and not by us. I agree with chicklet, I think it would be by legal rules and regulations etc. Probably a computer system to be honest.

    These days, im on bh more for the community and the forum. I just love it, its the best part.

    I have won and am happy, and the articles are ok but its not what im here for anymore. Just keep entering & you’ll win. I didn’t win anything for 3 years then I won a couple of things.

    Good luck hun! Wishing you a winning streak!

    I am here from few years now and I won a couple of times ;I don’t enter in all the competitions either.
    Been in few trial teams too , so really happy overall.

      Same! I have been here for a couple of years. Won about 3 times and got to participate in a number of exciting trials. Not to mention beautorium and all the BH events. One happy member here!

    I’ve never actually won the comps chosen at random, but I won a 10th birthday goodie bag which was amazing and have had some fantastic trials, so I definitely can’t complain

    I feel a bit guilty because I do seem to win a lot; HOWEVER, I’m on the bh forum almost daily. I see most new comps soon after they’re announced, I don’t enter every single comp, just the ones suitable to me. By sheer bulk of numbers, the more comps you enter, the greater your chances of winning.

      ms8 You should not feel guilty as you are a deserving winner. You are such a loyal member and contributor.

      I’ve won 2 prizes in my time here and like you I only enter what I want to win, it doesn’t seem fair otherwise

    I’ve been a BH member since early 2013. After BH increased the amount of their competitions last year – possibly to bring more traffic to their website – I’ve won twice. I only enter competitions for products that I know that I will like.

    Good to see that a few of the members have won several times over the years.
    I have joined for 5 years. Last week was the first time i won something.

    You know, I have never given this a thought!!! Ha ha!!! What a great topic… I’d assume it was random… Then if you win your name is taken out for a few weeks to share the love and luck around???

      I would expect these would come under state legislation for games of chance. They would have to be fair and random in their selection of winners, and I would think all entries that fit within their specified requirements would have to be included in the draw. I doubt that they could selectively remove entries of recent winners. It would also be a nightmare to administer.
