If you apply a makeup with spf 10, and then a sunscreen with spf, 15 does that give you a total spf 25?

Hey ladies.
Like it saids in my title, can your spf factor be ‘built up’

ie. you pop your makeup on with a spf 10.
and then maybe a powder with an spf 10.
does that give you an spf of 20?

What`s the difference between SPF 30+ and SPF 15?

An SPF 30+ sunscreen blocks out approximately 96% of the sun`s UV rays. An SPF 15 sunscreen blocks about 93% of the suns UV rays. A common misconception is that SPF 30 protects twice as much as a SPF15 – that is not the case. Unfortunately, no sunscreen can protect you against 100% of the sun`s rays so it is important to always use an SPF 30+ and apply it liberally and frequently.

At this stage sunblocks in Australia can only be labelled 30+, no higher.

I have it on good authority from a friend who works there that the Australian version of Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch 30+ does indeed have the equivilent protection of the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch 100+ US product. It`s just that they can`t legally use the “”100+”” labelling here.

I thought this was the case as I knew they aren`t allowed to label sunscreen higher than 30+ here.
