What’s your fave ingestible collagen product?

Hi guys,

It’s Kristy here from the bh team.

I’m writing a blog on ingestible collagen products and I want to know what your fave one is and why?

I’m going to be listing a few of the suggested ones, so please let me know ASAP what your fave product is and why. Have you noticed a difference in your skin quality? Does it taste nice? Do you mix it into water or your morning smoothie?

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this.

Have a great night.

Kristy xxx

From what I’ve read, there is no scientific evidence that ingestible collagen works. Anecdotally, sure, then good for you! I’ve found that when I reduce carbohydrate intake and eat more protein I notice much more of a difference in the strength and length of my nails!

I’ve tried collagen supplement in powder form years back, and I felt smoother skin, so does my other girlfriends who took the supplement too. I remember we were pleasantly amazed and stocked up on the supplement. Unfortunately, it is not available anymore.

I’m thinking of trying Bioglan Marine Collagen Powder, and would appreciate any feedback if you have tried. Thank you in advance!

This product does what it is meant to do.

I have been using this product since 2014 and definitely have noticed remarkable improvements with my hair growth, integrity of my nails and better skin tone. Not only that the mixture has a delicious taste. I have it in conjunction with warm concentrated lemon water for the extra hit of vitamin c to enhance collagen synthesis.

Am using a swisse hair skin and nails product at the moment and have used Q Silica tablets for a long time before that. was looking at the Natures Way Beauty Collagen tablets currently on special at coles for $15 but there are 60 in a packet and you have to take 3 a day so it’s quite expensive. Might stick to Swisse or Q Silica instead.

Does homemade, slow cooked , organic and grass fed beef bone broth count?

My hubby and I made a broth over three days and upon cooling, the broth was solid jelly.

Delicious, healthy, full of nutrients and collagen!

That sounds great Lucy16 and very good for you. My daughters been into the bone broth and has bought some home made but when she can’t get there, she’ll buy it. With this one you can see the jelly – when heated it’s all liquid.

That looks so good. We make a lot of stocks and broths in our slow cooker. Perfect in cold weather or as a base for a tropical Summer soup.

I’ve been trying out the Zoost Collagen tablets and they’ve been great. I was sceptical because of the cheap price, $2.99 from chemist warehouse, but I’ve really seen much more of a difference taking these than with the Nature’s Way ones. If anyone is looking to try ones that are easy on the wallet, I’d reccomend them. The only thing with collagen is that you need to keep it up to see the results. I’d been taking them for about 2 years, though missing some days here and there but these last four months I’ve been really consistent and have seen great results, just more glowing skin and also my hair is growing a lot faster. If you’re looking for a more natural alternative, bone broth soup is amazing for skin.

Care to share more about this bone broth soup that you are talking about?
What kind of bone do you use to boil and is there any recipe for it?
How long do you drink it such that you will start seeing results of having an “”amazing skin””? 🙂

I use beef bones with marrow, there are a heap of recipes online but most of them are quite similar, it`s just making a stock with veggies. The longer you boil it the better because it apparently releases more of the good stuff from the marrow…it can get kinda smelly in the house if you`re cooking stock for so long, so I open all the windows etc so it airs out. I`m not qualified by any means to list the nutrients or make a science claim etc but I know that the beef stock and also chicken stock cooked with the bones and skin really does make a difference to my skin! I don`t have or make it every day, but on the week that I do have the time to make it, I will notice a difference in the following days…like you know when you notice that your skin is kinda glowing. Hope that helps!! xx

I see! That is pretty common in Asia! I`ve came across recipes where they use bones to make the soup base for steamboat etc.

Speaking of this, I suddenly remebered the there`s such stuff called collegan soup base that`s being sold in the market now that promotes healthy skincare. 🙂

Collagen is a naturally-occurring chemical in our bodies that contributes to skin elasticity, and some are turning to collagen supplements to attain beautiful skin.

I’ve been researching ingestible collagen a bit lately – great to read so many opinions on this. Definitely helps my research!

I’ve started taking FreezeFrame Marine collagen peptide. After about a month I have’nt seen any noticeable change in my skin. I take the minimum amount, they encourage you to use more for better results.
