Great thread . enjoying reading all the info.
Last night I made my own Vitamin C sheet mask and I thought to share it with BH forum. My skin looks so nice today after the mask. It is smooth and soft.Ok for the DIY Vit C mask (I love DIYs)
Ingredients
- Sheet Mask paper (Got it from daiso) It is just dry sheet masks that you dip into your own serum to create your own sheet masks.
- Aloe vera gel 1tsp
- Vitamin C powder (a pinch)
- Vitamin E capsule
- one drop of Frankincense Essential Oil
Ok I mixed all the ingredients together and soaked my dry sheet mask in it. I then used the sheet mask and left it on for 20 mins.
I later then just rubbed the remaining serum all over my face did not rinse off.I loved it and will be doing it often

Lots of trial and error, but my skin looks best when these are included in my regime:
Acids: Lactic and salicylic
Vitamins: C, E, B3 (Niacinamide)
Lines and wrinkles: Matrixyl, Argireline and Retinoid
Moisture: Ceramidin and oils

Hi Lucy,
No Argireline is an organic molecule, a peptide which is derived from Botox. I used these from The Ordinary and mix them with the Niacinamide for a custom serum and for me these have actually worked better than Retinol at reducing deep forehead lines.

So far what absolutely work for me are:
- ceramide
- glycolic acid
- hyaluronic acid
- salicylic acid
- rosehip oil
- squalene
I really wanted vit C to work but yet to find one that my skin really likes.

Same here with the Vit C. I though it was just me. After having excellent results with lactic acid, I wanted to try vitamin C. Unfortunately, I felt like the vitamin C cream undid all the work I put into my skin. My face was blotchy and my pores were gigantic. I`ll stick to eating oranges.

That was a while back. I don`t even remember. But my sister uses Vitamin C all the time and she raves about it. Aren`t you tempted to shop in the Rewards Room. So many good things. I was tempted with the GHD dryer, but I tend to let my hair dry naturally. I got some good items.

I`ve also heard so much about benefits of Vitamin C.
Considering to get a serum with C from reward room for sure 😉 -

Would you be inclined to try another vit C? It doesnt harm my skin, it just didn`t do a miracle that I was expecting. I did see a lot of glow while I was using it consistently.
I have Dermalogica biolumin C. The next ones I want to try are Clinique fresh press or The Ordinary Powder 🙂
I was really tempted, but I have too much products. I realised Some of my “”natural”” based products starting to go off before the expiry date printed (e.g. antipodes apostle, trilogy products in particular. I found that their shelf life is much less than what is printed which is 3 years). So it would be unwise to stock up more.
I also wanted to get the GHD air, but I have only just gotten the remington one last beautorium. While I don`t like it, I found it hard to justify getting 2 new hair dryers in a year (because I usually let my hair air dry too!!)

You have to be careful with natural products as so many inputs such as soil quality, country of origin etc. affect the final state of the raw material.
Natural products have a shorter shelf life and the closer they get to expiry, the more sensitising they become.
You are best steering clear of essential oils in products as these will ultimately cause irritation; if not immediately, definitely over time.
Carrier oils and butters are fine as long as you know the provenance and method of extraction.
I deal with natural products day in and day out and can no longer handle cinnamon! 🙁

I think the drunk elephant has c and ferulic. Can`t remember if it has E in it. It is nice, but not good enough for me to repurchase it, esp at that price
I have in mind The Ordinary ferulic + c powder. But recently i have bought Dermalogica bioluminC (impulse buy, not ascorbic acid) so I will see how that goes first…

I use Retinol, vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid. I believe my moisturiser has vitamin E, but I haven’t used the azaelic before. Well on it’s own anyway, there’s a good chance it’s been in a bottle of something.
