Skincare Wardrobe/ Whats on today/ Skincare Diary

I think I can safely say we all own a range of skincare products and use them according to how our facial skin is performing on the day…or am I wrong?

Do you own a range of things? and if so what exactly is your routine and product list today…you can write on here every day, once a week or when your routine changes… a bit like a skin diary….
Or just post a pic

Today I have no makeup on, which isn’t unusual as 99.9% of the time I don’t wear it. I’m ok with the world seeing me with eczema, or zits, or scars on my face. Big frickin’ deal.

    Skincare wise, today I used:

    • Trilogy Rosehip Transformative Cleansing Oil (switched over from the Sukin one I have been using as I think my skin is beginning to change with the seasons)
    • Andalou 1000 Roses Facial Toner (used as a mist)
    • The Ordinary HA + Zinc
    • Sukin Blemish Control Spot Banishing Gel (currently battling some blind pimples/red & inflamed spots on my face – will switch to Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion tonight as that’s more effective)
    • Glow Lab Facial Moisturiser (was using another one, but I’m giving it a break to see if not using it improves my breakouts)

My skincare routine switches up from day to night and sometimes I switch up the products I use; but on a whole it stays pretty consistent.

My skincare hasn’t changed for a while. I keep it pretty simple. In the morning I wash my face with just water. I use The Body Shop Vitamin E eye cream, and The Body Shop Vitamin E face cream. If I’m going out I use BareMinerals tinted moisturiser and then makeup on top of that. The tinted moisturiser has SPF 30.

At night, I remove any make up with a Face Halo, then I use The Body Shop Vitamin E face wash under the shower with my Foreo to remove any residual and for a really deep cleanse. I exfoliate one a week with The Body Shop Vitamin C scrub. Then I use the Vitamin E eye cream, followed by The Body Shop Vitamin E serum in oil. I let that soak in for a while, and then just before bed I apply Vitamin E cream.

I use masks regularly. I like the sheet masks from The Body Shop. I just bought a couple of Vitamin E ones last week. I love Lush face masks too. I try to give myself a face mask once a week.

I hardly ever have a makeup day as I live in a very small town in northern NSW…seriously if I went to the butchers or supermarket wearing a full face in this town people would think I was stark raving nuts so I concentrate on skincare and even with that…a town of 1500 people think I’m nuts…
So today I got up and used Sukin green power cleansing oil [ my go-to as its cheap] then I used my old fav…CosRx morning foaming cleanser followed by a homemade spritz with Aloe and rosewater to stop transdermal water loss PH of 5.5 then my toner that is Mizon aha/bha to lower my PH immediately to a level that Vit C likes to work well.
Today I used Hada Labo Vit C serum followed by Aldi HA serum 1/2 hr later then a vit C moisturizer by DermaE then finally an SPF 50+++ by natural instincts an Aussie brand that is pure iron oxide….phewww no wonder I’m tired LOL
For makeup I do my brows with wonder brow I use a simple very light concealer from a Korean brand under my eyes and where I need it…I use a lip liner and a Burt’s bees balm coloured a mild red …then top the lot with Innisfree loose powder to stop it falling off my face…I top up with sunscreen every 3 hours plus wear a daggy hat…and yes in case you are wondering I definitely am the town eccentric!!!

Dye your hair purple , everyone will think you`re even more eccentric.,. what`s your skintype, oily?

  • 4 yrs, 7 mths ago

Simple is a good brand IMO…I mix it up too with high and low end…just because it’s not called Drunk Elephant does not mean it’s not working or good.
I use a lot of LaCura from Aldi …I use the HA and night serum or at least it’s on rotation in my stash…of course, I have other things.
I have not tried the caviar eye gel as I have no access here in a small town but I would love to know…I also love the tinted sunscreen by Natio I know it does the job.

Today is a no-makeup day, most days are. I did get my eyelashes tinted last week though. But I don’t intend to go anywhere today. If I leave the house it will be a quick trip to the supermarket.

Skincare is a serum, Simple brand, I really only bought it because it was reduced to clear at Woolies, I don’t mind it but I have other serums in my stash to use up after it’s finished. . Lacura caviar eye gel, I always use a gel on my eyes in the morning and cream at night. Avene skin recovery cream as my moisturiser and on top of that Natio tinted moisturiser – it does’nt give my skin much coverage, but I like it and it’s spf 50.
