Hey guys, just want tips, tricks and advice on how to get rid of pigmentation, age spots, dark circles and fine lines.
Hey Ane! Some oils are quite good to lighten pigmentation and age spots, such as Bio Oil, rosehip oil, vitamin e oil etc. Also acid peels (glycolic acid) can also be done to hasten skin cell generation, which helps to reduce hyperpigmentation and fine lines.
When I was a teenager I would apply lemon juice to lighten my acne discolouration and scars - so that might work too!
Dark circles are often hereditary and can be caused by numerous factors, so that might be more tricky to eliminate.
Hi RitaB, may I ask how you applied the lemon juice? Like just with the fingers straight to the face from a freshly squeezed juice?
Hi haylee! I would soak a cotton swab with fresh lemon juice and then apply it onto my scars on my face before bed and sleep with it overnight.
Thank you so much. Brilliant. Will give it a go, thank you.
First I'd say use sunscreen religiously to help prevent further damage. I've found The Ordinary's retinol products and their Alpha Lipoic Acid has really helped me for pigmentation and fine lines. And they are so wallet friendly. I also use an LED mask 5 times a week that has also helped with pigmentation. Also second the rose hip oil.
Hi Eskimo82! Just wondering what LED mask you use? I've also got the Alpha Lipoic Acid and love it.
Freaky, I bought one off ebay for around $70 after getting really good results from a couple of LED sessions at a Clearskincare Clinic. The home one is nowhere near as strong but I'm finding its working really well regardless, I just have to do it at least 5 times a week for 15 mins to see results. There's a bunch for sale there but there are all pretty much the same, they offer like 7 light colours but I only ever use the red. I actually didnt expect it to work, but it has for me! Ohhh and the Alpha Lipoic is amazing isn't it?? I think its my fave TO product.
I'm really glad you've found an LED mask that works well for you. I've often ummed and ahhed over many on eBay but was unsure whether they would give decent results. I've also had some LED treatments through Skincare Clinics and although they're great. I can't afford to have them done as often as I'd like to lately. Skin Physics also have a LED device I'm interested in which is around $80. I'm having a think about that one.
Yes TOs Alpha Lipoic Acid truly is amazing. I won't be giving that up anytime soon!
Same! The clinic ones are great but can't afford them all the time :(
Hi Eskimo, can I ask how long did it take for the home LED masks to work for you? I bought one and tried for a month without much effect.
Hi Jillian206, I found that even after the first use I could notice a difference. My skin felt softer and looked more radiant, it also tingled slightly while I had the mask on. I use mine at least 5 times a week for 15-20 minutes on the medium setting using only the red light, for some reason with the mask I have this seems to be the sweet spot for me. I tried it on the highest setting and didnt see any results, also tried for less time and again no difference. I apply retinol, aloe vera, serum and night cream afterwards. The other coloured lights don't do anything for my skin, it's only the red that seems to work. But it is nowhere near as good as in-salon, where one 30-minute session will give me the same results for a month. Where did you get your mask? Mine is just a cheapie from ebay. Maybe you could play around with the different settings?
There is a massive thread on BH which is dedicated to the issue of pigmentation, products etc. You will find lots of valuable information here:

I have very large pores and I am always looking for pore fillers/primers. After seeing many recommendations on YouTube I decided to give this a try and I'm not overly excited.
I chose the shade Taupe as it's a great cool toned light brown and matches my natural brows perfectly. It comes in a glass jar, screw top lid and made in Italy.
I am a pale neutral skin tone and find it hard to get a pale bronzer that doesn't have a stark orange, red or pink undertone as I find these just don't work for me.
