One for those 50+

Hello bh’ers!

Hope you’re all well.

I’d love to put together a content piece on the products women aged 50+ swear by. It can be makeup, hair, skin care – whatever you fancy (literally).

Just let me know the product name and why you love it so much below.

Thanks for your help as always,
Sam x

I’ve removed my spam reported comment from before. BH must have removed the spam while I was typing. Thank you, BH!

Brow gel – I use ModelCo or Benefit. I find it to be less harsh than pencils, and a fuller brow ‘lifts’ my face, without adding harsh colour.

I just came back from a short trip and wanted to review Caredent Super-sensitive toothbrush which I bought from last Rewards and sadly it is not part of BH list now.

Just saw this forum thread! I love Kerastase Elixer Ultime for my hair and the scent is so beautiful too but the way it treats my hair and makes it shiny and feel healthy is unbeatable and I’ve bought several bottles of this stuff and given it as gifts too as it’s just the best stuff.

For my brows I love Benefit Brow Zings – there hasn’t been many days that I haven’t used it since I got it and it lasts for ages.

I love my MAC lippies in matte – they just make me feel so special and ‘just right’ for when I go out the door.

Nivea Invisible anti-perspirents are beautifully scented and work perfectly – I don’t use it everyday but I don’t have to but when I do want to use it I can really count on it working well.

Can I just mention one more – that Sensori room deodoriser and santiser spray that I’ve tried (I have it in the Toowoomba Carnival) is brilliant! I will be buying another bottle when this one runs out but it does seem to last ages and ages too! I love the way this actually kills germs and things that cause bad odours, not just masking them.

So many young beauties commenting on this forum. I will be in the running in 18 months for the 70+ forum. Will there be one for us?

I do love the L’Oreal Excellence hair colour as I agree it is very good at keeping my ‘blonde’ hair blonde and natural looking. Now if only there were the real miracle products that can return my skin to my natural young skin.

I am using the Nivea Q10 products which are surprising in reducing the aged look.

Nude by Nature mineral powder is good as a cover to make the face look more even toned.

Carmex lip balm works well for keeping the lips smooth.

My favourite go to item is the Scholl Velvet Smooth Electronic Foot Care System as the soles of my feet do get more calloused as I get older and this comes out every week for a session to remove the ‘horse shoes’ that have developed. I would be totally lost and devastated if this was no longer around.

I tend to use mostly Nude By Nature makeup these days (I’m 55) – foundation, powder, eye palette, mascara. Also I love rosehip oil instead of moisturiser at night, though lately I’ve been trying – thanks BH – other oils like the Hunter Lipid vitamin face oil and I like it even better. High quality oil in any case really works for my skin. I use Sukin cleanser and Burt’s Bees satin lipstick in Brimming Berry is my go to (though I always have lots of different lipsticks – this is one that always works for me). That’s pretty much my entire routine. The simpler the better. Most days I wear no makeup other than lipstick (which I always wear!).

Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance for the whole face, around eyes too. Does it all. No irritating parfum!
All hair products are Aveda. Blue Malva shampoo is online only, and I get the litre bottle which lasts a long time. One way to know there are no ingredient nasties, is the fact i can put my contact lens in straight after shampooing with no stinging and burning. Why I have stuck with Aveda since they arrived in Melbourne.
    Im 57.
