Microdermabrasion experiences

Hey guys.

I was wondering what your experience has been with microdermabrasion sessions at the beauty salon? I’m thinking of getting 5 sessions at my local salon (in parramatta, Sydney), they’re having a special for $99 for the 5. Which sounds really cheap but I’m not sure if I want someone who doesn’t have a medical degree grinding away at my face!!!

Any tips or suggestions would be great 🙂

Thanks.

Space the treatments out. It’s like sand on your face. I even have my own microdermasion crystals for home use. Customs open the package. Eeeekkk they would have look suspicous on the x-ray.

Great idea, will sign up now. I am definitely going back for another treatment at some point. Let us know how you go with the LED treatment =)

I am going to bump this, I know it’s an old one but not sure where else to post & share!
I had my first microdermabrasion today, used one of the vouchers Priceline has been giving out in their boxes. It was with Clear skincare, went in for the consultation which took about 10 minutes then the appointment itself took about 10-15 minutes. Very quick! Nowhere as painful or uncomfortable as I was expecting, felt kind of strange. Sort of like sandpaper that was scraping & sucking at the skin. My skin did feel a bit tingly and went a little pink immediately afterwards (which settled down after an hour or so) but sheesh is it smooth at the moment! Not at all irritated or adgitated.
Can’t believe I put off microdermabrasion for so long, it sounded harsh but not what I thought at all! Definitely keen to get more treatments, next one would probably be the hydromicrodermabrasion I have heard heaps about.

Thanks Rekhyt. I had my first session a couple of weeks ago and so far so good. No side effects.
She didn’t explain anything to me but I asked and insisted she tell me what she was doing as she was doing it. I was really nervous – I kept thinking please don’t burn my skin off!
My skin was super soft after, a little dry so I kept moisturising through the day for the next few days.
So far it hasn’t helped my hyperpigmentation or acne scars.

    4 more sessions to go!

Microdermabrasion can be good if done well- ask to see their qualifications, a portfolio of their work, and for a full explanation of the procedure, expected results, potential side-effects and aftercare. If they cannot provide all of the above, or anything looks even vaguely suspect, look for another clinic.
