Lush products – rave!! (excuse the essay hehe)

I know there is a thread on Lush products but it’s a bit dated so I thought I’d start a new one, plus I didn’t want to post a really long comment.

I’ve always known about Lush since I was little but never actually bought anything because I thought it was one of those places that had overpriced products that were mediocre in quality. I am glad to say though that the Lush products that I have recently bought have been AMAZING. My favourites are:

  • ‘Big’ Shampoo: this is one of the few volumising shampoos I’ve used that actually work. It’s different to any other shampoo I’ve tried – it’s salt based and you wouldn’t think it to look at it but it lathers really well and your hair just feels so clean after using it.

  • ‘American Cream’ condition: this is a really really moisturising conditioner that has the most amazing vanilla fragrance to it! And my hair is always super soft after using this with the Big shampoo!

  • ‘Buffy’ Body Butter: the girl at Lush told me that this was one of their best selling products and I can really see why! It’s like an exfoliating soap but it has lots of beautiful oils in it so after you get out of the shower, you just need to pat yourself dry…no need for any moisturiser! It just feels like you have a light body oil on 🙂 The only thing I don’t like about this is that it doesn’t last that long and it is a little pricey for something that doesn’t last as long as some of their other products…still amazing though!

  • ‘Angels on Bare Skin’ cleanser: such a beautiful cleanser! I use it in the morning when I don’t have any makeup to take off and just love how it leaves my skin so lovely and soft…and not dry, you can still feel a tiny bit of the essential oils on your ski afterwards 🙂

  • ‘Mask of Magnaminty’ face mask: I use this about twice a week and love how it really deep cleans! It feels so fresh and cool when you put it on and your skin is really smooth and clean afterwards.

  • ‘Fresh Farmacy’ cleanser: this is another great cleanser. It is great for problem skin and leaves your skin squeaky clean, good for when you need to take make up off at night. Bit fiddly but well worth it!

  • ‘Tea Tree Water’ toner: I use this after cleansing – probably not essential but a nice step to include nonetheless! I just spray it on and wipe it off with a cotton pad and it helps take off any make up that may still be on and I feel like it really refreshens and calms my skin.

  • ‘Grease Lightning’ spot treatment: I think this is the only spot treatment that has ever worked on my skin. Spot treatments are normally either really harsh on my skin and leave it dry around the pimple or they take too long to work…or they don’t work at all lol! This is awesome – takes down the redness really quickly and isn’t harsh at all 🙂

Sorry for writing so much guys but just wanted to share how great I’ve found all these products – I haven’t been paid by Lush or anything lol, I’m just a big fan now haha! I can honestly say my hair and skin have never ever been better! Couldn’t be happier 🙂

Any fellow Lush faithfuls out there?

Lush is an absolute nightmare for anyone who is sensitive for fragrances. I used to love it, but now if I go in there I get a really severe migraine attack (which for me, is not a headache but debilitating neurological symptoms that feel similar to a stroke). However, there are a few products I can tolerate the smell of that actually calm me. One is the Sleepy shower gel and lotion. I know it’s different for everyone, but if you are sensitive to smells, I’d recommend trying that one.

Purple Patch I can’t wait to hear what you picked up! If you’re after a good massage bar, Friends With Benefits is AMAZING. Tell us how you like their stuff, I’d be interested to see if Lush newbies are converted as easily as I was haha!

It might sound silly but the main thing I love so incredibly much about Lush is that even if the product you buy doesn’t deliver much outstanding result, it still smells so good you’ll never regret buying it.

    Thanks, i will.

I never knew how popular they are until now. They are mentioned everywhere!

I do want to try a massage bar first i think but if i go for a look on my day off (which just happens to be pay day) it could be dangerous!

Purple Patch; you use the massage bars on dry skin and they pretty much soak in after a few minutes without the need to wash them off. You can use them after a shower as kinda like an alternative to moisturiser.
Definitely check it out, all LUSH stuff is amazing 🙂

I’m confused, how are the cleansers and toners different to others? I’ve heard a few comments that they are a bit of a hassle to use…

Also how do the massage bars work? Are they like a soap or doyou not wash them off as someones comment was that they used it after a shower, did i read this wrong as i was assuming you use them in the shower.

The website didn’t really explain much but i am definately going to go check out the shop next time i am in town. Til now i have always kind of walked past and imagined i would get a massive headache if i ever went in?!!

My daughter got a box of Lush stuff for her birthday and I loved the scent of all those things!

Some of their bath bombs are great. I don’t buy them very often because I don’t live that close to a Lush store but I’ve bought (I think it was called) Butterball bath bombs. I loved them and will have to buy more next time I’m near a store. It smells like vanilla and is really moisturising. Great to use in winter.

I really want to try the ‘big’ shampoo now as I am in need of some volume! The grease lightning sounds great too 🙂
I’ve also wanted to try a cleanser from them for so long, but I’ve just never bought one because it seems like such a hassle to use.
