Thanks for the reviews, ladies. I’ve been meaning to try one of the masks so now I’ll give them a go.

I think my fav from the trial was the Red Algae mask! I love the beads to further exfoliate and refine the skin – pure bliss!

I am too participating in this trial. I am fan of Loreal’ Products. The guidance of which product to apply is a boon. As there are many products in the market but what to buy and what my skin needs is a question.

Ooh excited to see how the rest of you like this mask!

I picked up the algae one in the last priceline sale but haven’t had a chance to use it yet.

Duality. May I ask what your favourite product is in the avene range?

ray_jay I first started with their SOS post-procedure kit which I got when I first started the deep TCA peels, I got it while overseas so I am not sure if it is sold here except for online because I`ve never seen it in regular stores like Priceline. I then switched to their extremely gentle cleansing milk (think that is the name, something like that) but their Tolerance range is also really good – I always keep a couple of cleansers and a moisturizer in the house when I start new products and actives because you just never know.

edit to add I just ducked upstairs and this is definitely the one:

      also this one:
      http://www.avene.com.au/face/specific-care/sensitive-and-hypersensitive-skin/tolerance-extreme-cream

pretty standard items in my kit for just in case. They also have a cleansing oil which I was planning to buy.

2663anne given your history with sensitized skin I’m not surprised you have had a reaction. I like using this site (it’s actually for rosacea and sensitive skin suffers) and it lists all the ingredients commonly causing issues, this is their summary:

Charcoal PowderCharcoal powder is now being incorporated into many top name facial cleansers such as Biore and Garnier. It looks to be the most celebrated new ingredient of 2014. It is mainly being used to clear pores of excess sebum and remove small white heads and black heads. It’s actions are similar to clays such as Benotite and Kaolin clay, but has the novelty factor. This ingredient does work. Within one wash many see clearer pores and better overall skin clarity… and a healthy light red glow. The problem for rosacea sufferers is that charcoal powder cannot discern between dead skin cells in pores and facial skin so it is a harsh exfoliator on any skin that it’s applied to — hence the irritation and the redness. If rosacea sufferers want to test this product out try it once or twice a week at the most and steer clear of the Charcoal Powder masks and scrubs.Irritation Factor: 7(on a scale of 1 to 10)

    This is the site:

You will need to get yourself back to some safe basics like Avene and lots and lots of ceramides in light layers. I don’t think your skin would have had time to repair itself yet after your previous bad experience as it can take several months of dedicated “babying” to get it healthy again. Ditch any new products for several months or you will be on a never-ending cycle of this, it’s a bummer I know 🙁

Thanks duality, Avene here I come lol.
Would you skip testing the others? I`m thinking yes I don`t want to anger my skin anymore….

Definitely feels like a reaction. Charcoal products can be really strong. I wouldn’t use it. Do you have the avene range duality suggested for you. I’d use that.
