Life-changing skin stories

Hi guys,

After reading some heartfelt stories about women who have dealt with difficult skin issues in their teens and adulthood, I thought why not see if the beautyheaven community would like to share their skin stories in one of my articles.

It’s not only inspiring, but it’s a great way to share the solutions you used to combat issues like cystic acne, scarring, melasma and facial eczema just to name a few.

Let me know if you think this is a good idea or not.

thanks,

Kristy xx

sharu‘s previous post is spam. I also reported the post by Sandrajrwilliams as spam (which was not removed last year). The post by erika mollett looks like spam. I did a Google search for the company she mentioned, and it is a website selling skin care etc.

Everyone has skin stories – the good – the bad and the Horrific – I could tell you forever about the detoxicifying process after returning from a big South American holiday or the terrible acne I had in my mid-20s!

I had hormonal acne from the age of 13 onwards, typical of this I had alot more pimples on my jawline, although I still had many all over my face, it got worse when I had my period. Taking contraceptives helped, but I still had it until my late teens.
My skin is quite sensitive now and I’m sure it’s because of some of the harsh skincare products I used to try and get rid of it. I’m lucky that I did’nt get any scarring or pitting.
I’m not sure if their is any ‘cure’ I never found a life changing product that worked miracles, but looking back I can see that my diet played a part and eating less junk food would have helped. It affected my self esteem badly, I did alot of stupid things and got into relationships that were’nt good simply because I wanted some sort of attention.
Now when people tell me I have good skin they have no idea what that means to me, One of the ‘good things about acne is that your skin won’t age as quickly, I’m sure that’s why I get told I don’t look my age.
Hang in their…..It will get better.

I consider puberty skin problems relatively mild but mind you, my nephew had it extremely bad. The skin problems I feel afraid off are in league of psoriasis. I know one lady who suffers from it and it looks like a massive trouble

When I turned 16 that time firstly acne is getting on my face it is all around on my face and cheeks and forehead. I feel very bad and unconfident to face anybody. my friends ask me what is happening with your face so I am getting nervous. Then I go for a treatment of it and after sometimes I get some relief from it. Now my skin is clear and I feel happy to see it again it in the mirror.

Learning about transepidermal water loss and how to correctly apply moisturiser has been an absolute life changer for me. I no longer wake up itchy.

The solution? Apply a ceramide rich moisturiser to wet skin. I also invested in a cool mist humidifier.

For melasma, I was surprised to learn that visible light exacerbates it and that iron oxides block a certain amount of visible light.

On the melasma front, did you know that the heat generated in spas and saunas can also worsen it?

It was enlightening to discover the importance of wearing sunscreen indoors if you are sitting near windows.

Azelaic acid lotions such as Azclear, somewhat improve acne, melasma and rosacea.
