Jojoba oil- miracle oil or just a wasteful splurge?

Hi, So I have been looking for some natural skin care mosturisers to use as part of my nightly skin care regime! Upon my research, I came across jojoba oil being used to prevent wrinkles, leave the skin smooth and hydrated and also as a makeup remover as it claims to unclog pores! Does anyone use jojoba oil or know anyone that swears by this? I would love to hear about your experiences!

I haven’t had to use it yet, but I’ve read reviews and seen these products in stores a few times, but for some reason, I’m still hesitant. I guess I have to try it.

I’ve just bought golden jojoba oil by Springfields. I like how it is housed in an amber bottle to protect it from light and that it has a dropper bottle. It also has a slightly earthy scent.

I have also just bought some jojoba oil from the Jojoba Company and I’m looking forward to trying it – thanks for the feedback ladies!

I have fallen in love with jojoba oil over the last couple of years. You can buy clear jojoba oil but this has been treated with heat and/or chemicals. I have used this as a treatment before shampoo and it works well. If you want to get the healing benefits of jojoba for your skin, I recommend Australian golden jojoba (it is a pale golden colour). At the moment, I’m using jojoba from The Jojoba Company, but there are a few other brands. I’ve been using golden jojoba on lots of rashes on my body and it feels very gentle.

I use a combination of jojoba oil and vit E oil mix on arms and legs but I add shea butter to the mix to use as a hand and foot cream. I buy off Amazon, UK, very good value for money and works great.

i think it’s all down to your skin type . i also recommend trying ‘samples’ first to see how you go.

both rosehip and jojoba have been ‘misses’ with my skin so far, but i’ve been having pretty great relationship with the ones by Antipodes

I’ve been using jojoba oil for about a year now & I can’t recommend it enough. At present I’m using a jojoba & rosehip blend from The Jojoba Company & whilst it’s not bad, I can’t wait to go back to their jojoba oil because I just love it. I’ve got my Mum hooked onto the stuff now, it works well on her mature & dehydrated skin as much as it works on my sensitive-slightly-combination-kind-of-dehydrated skin. Not really sure that it prevents wrinkles, but it certainly helps keep your skin well moisturised.

I spent a lifetime avoiding oils because I’ve got oily, blemish-prone skin, but when I tried jojoba about a year ago, I haven’t looked back. I bought jojoba oil at a health food shop. I went for a week or two where my skin reacted to the change, but I was warned to expect this so I persevered. I had small pimples, but close to the surface of the skin (nothing’s worse than a deep, “blind” pimple!). The places I didn’t have a pimple were so amazingly soft, it made it easier to persevere with the minor blemish outbreaks. This settled down & my pore size appears smaller & my complexion looks brighter overall.

I got Thursday Island Macadamia Oil from beautyheaven to try. I love it too. I use this at night. It’s got lavender oil in it, which I’m not usually keen on, but the smell is so soothing when you’re trying to get to sleep.

Rosehip oil is next on my try out list.

    Good luck simrank!

I’m a fan of oils all round – jojoba can be quite nice depending on the brand – some will be quick thick and oily while some will be thinner and lighter. Rosehip oil is also an excellent one. You may want to wait until priceline’s next 40% off skincare sale to nab a bottle.

I’ve never used it , but maybe go to a Crabtree and Everlyn store as I know they do sell it . Good luck
