Jade rollers and crystal rollers

In light of the recent article on jade rollers and seeing trish suggest I start a topic. Here goes: I’m a huge jade roller fan! I like to use them as a facial massage tool. It’s relaxing, helps depuff the skin and help with lymphatic drainage! I’m no expert so anyone who has more knowledge on the subject feel free to share! I purchased my first jade roller years ago after following a health and wellbeing blog. I got a cheap one off eBay which now I believe is probably just glass or marble but still effective to use! I love crystals in general and have several stones so to use them in skincare sounded lovely.

I have purchased an authentic jade roller from White Lotus. The quality of the stone and structure is far more superior than my cheapie and feels more luxurious.

Theyve trended in recent years and I’ve got a few different rollers such as pink quartz, amethyst and blue jasper. These rollers make facial massage more easier. Some may see them as another gimmick but I love them. I like to use a sheet mask and roll over the top or use an oil and massage in.

Looking at buying one to see if it helps with the puffiness I always have under my eyes. Can anyone recommend a good one and where did you buy it from. Have been looking at ones online from Adore Beauty which are about $35.

Thanks TinDrum – they are lovely to look at 🙂

Welcome to the forums TinDrum – Gosh, I use Revlon and didn’t even know that they had bought out a roller. Not that I can use it due to medical issues which seems strange but I’ve heard other beauties say how wonderful the rollers are.

For that price maybe I could buy one and just admire the green colour which I do love.

Yes, I can never just walk into Priceline and come out empty handed. Always something will draw you in. 🙂

      Hello jatz!
Much thanks for the warm welcome! I am sorry to hear that you cannot use them due to medical issues :/
      ~big hug from a not-so-medically-ok-lady~

I have never kept an eye out for the roller and never really thought of getting one, only in passing when I saw it on the Designer Brands website. But then I was pointed to this forum as I enquired about the efficacy of the roller.

That`s when I thought to check Priceline, and et voila! There`s a Revlon one. I have never actually seen it in the shop (my local one is Glenelg SA – and it is a massive one on Jetty Rd!) It seems big enough to carry the full Revlon tools line.

I guess if you cannot use one, but you want to admire its beauty, I reckon go to Ebay and get one for half the asking price of RRP 🙂

Priceline is scientifically formulated to suck money out of your bank account. And I love it! bahahah Thank fully the shop is far enough a walk from my house as to not accidentally bungle into 🙂

Keep well and keep jatz! xo

ps.:Here`s the DB one: it has a ridged side as well

Thank you for the warm welcome Trish_D!
    🙂
Everyone has been lovely to me, as I have only recently come out of my shell. I’ve been on here for ages but never chimed in 🙂 But I’m enjoying the discussions very much!

I might give the Revlon one a try. I saw a lot on eBay too, and pretty cheap (Au stock for about $7 – free shipping) . With these things you never know: they look exactly the same as the Revlon one and for all we know it is even made in the same factory in the PRC!
But I’d rather pay double and be able to take it back if it does break 🙂

I will probably give it a go. Why not?! It certainly won’t hurt me in any way 😀
Have a great day Trish_D! And thanks again for the warm welcome!

Welcome Tin! Thanks for the heads up on the Revlon roller, I have a Priceline voucher so I think I know what I’ll be getting myself lol.

      • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

Priceline is a place where all space warps and bends. You fall out the other end dehydrated, hungry and dishevelled. Your clock shows that hours have passed since you set foot in there. You continue on your way, confused as to how you have these mysterious bags in your hands and why your wallet is empty.

        God I hate/love that place!

      • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

Haha yes!! Entering Chemist Warehouse also tends to wind up having the same effect as well =)

      • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

        haha!

Chemistwarehouse is a bit to manic for me. sooooooooooooooooooo many things!
But yes, I don;t think I have ever walked into CW without buying at least a little thing. ugh they always have those little $2 and $4 bins with nail polishes etc.
dammit! You can always justify a $2 purchase no matter what! But I also have zero clue how many bottles of nailpoilish I have, because this girl does NOT pay retail! bahahaha

      • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

I know what you mean, the one I go to is very daunting and too tempting so many products at great prices. I tend to buy a lot online from CW, so much easier than going into a store and trying to find things. Their delivery is fairly quick too.

      • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

I have never had anything delivered from them, so thank you, it`s good to know that they are quick!

Especially in CW you tend to walk out with things that you never even knew that you ever needed in your life hahaha.

Priceline is just a calm, strolling sort of atmosphere. Which I like very much! Offer for help is always given but then you are left to yourself to saunter up and down the comfortably wide aisles, no music blaring at you (music playing in shops tends to get me into an anxious mood and all I want to do is gtfo)… just a calm stroll. Their retail psychology is so spot on, it is ridiculous!

      • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

awwwwwwwwwwwww you Beauties are the best! Thank you for another lovely warm welcome! I just thought I`d check Priceline because the one in Glenelg has a huge range of Revlon tools, so yayy for technology, the internet told me that they had it.

I`ll be getting one too. Let me know how you go with it.

      • 2 yrs, 10 mths ago

Hey TinDrum, did you try the Revlon roller? I am looking at buying it too. I have a habit of buying things and never using them, getting bored of them so I`d be keen to hear what you say. I`m not really into crystals, I`m hoping it will help with de-stressing and getting rid of puffiness especially around my eyes.

haha, I can`t go into Priceline or Chemist Warehouse for those same reasons…. Too much temptation!!

    • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

I`m so pleased you have “”chimed in,”” TinDrum. Hope you love the Revlon roller when you get it. Just be gentle to start with!! Looking forward to communicating with you throughout the Forums.

      • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

        🙂

awww! Thank you Trish_D! I do feel a bit silly not having chimed in for so long. But as they say, better late than never 🙂

I will go easy with it I promise, I will make sure I know exactly what I am doing before flowing that thing over my face haha!

I am sure you have noticed by now, I am quite verbose and I think that was something that held me back from getting involved in the community here, but hopefully I can make a few of you laugh or smile at the very least 🙂

Thank you again for the lovely, warm welcome xo

This has been a very informative discussion! I just had a look on Priceline’s website and Revlon have a real jade stone roller for only $14.95.
    On the Revlon website : Rating: 4.5 – ‎ from 435 reviews!

Don’t know about the benefits of it being jade (I am not a believer of that sort of thing) but I doubt you can find a glass one cheaper than the Revlon one! I know DB has one too, but at least you can pick the Revlon one up in store rather than have to pay for postage.

    • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

Welcome to the Forums, TinDrum. So pleased you`ve popped over. I have no idea about the Revlon roller although it looks like it could be good. As I`ve said here before, I just love my rollers and apart from the soothing effect which is just beautiful, I`m positive there has been an improvement in my skin, especially on my neck.

  • Saw an update in this thread and then spam…hehe…hope everyone is enjoying their rollers 🙂 I’ve been unwell for a while so haven’t been rolling for a while but keen to get back into it.

So sorry to read that you haven`t been well, Beauty Obsession. I hope it isn`t too long before you feel heaps better. Still absolutely loving my rollers.

Sorry to hear you have been unwell BeautyO and hope you are feeling better. Is there a pun there…..you haven`t been rolling for a while = jade roller?

Seriously though, just hope you are feeling better. xx

Moving my comments re jade rollers here – Thank you JATZI didn’t realize there was already a forum.

I wanted to share my great little purchase that I feel I have had excellent results with.

Its a jade roller – I bought it on a whim when shopping on Adore a while back. I suffer a lot from puffiness, sinus and migraine headaches my skin becomes hot and tight and the pain dreadful.

The first thing I noticed was how lovely and cool the jade felt and how easy it is to use. It is marketed to use after applying serums and moisturizer but I just love the way it relieves my facial soreness and reduces puffiness around my eyes.

The smaller end is fantastic for under eye area and you can pop it in the fridge if you like a really cool feeling. I can think of lots of areas that it could be used on.

I’m sure there are lots of similar items on the market but just wanted to flag this as Ive been so surprised by what a great little multi use tool it is, it just feels so good and my skin is looking great at the moment with the extra attention.

    • 4 yrs, 10 mths ago

Interesting to know, my under eyes are always puffy, I have permanent puffy eye bags no matter what I do or use, wonder if this would help me?

      • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

Hayley, if anyone had told me I`d be recommending jade/rose quartz etc. rollers like I have an investment – which I DON`T – I`d have said they were crazy but I absolutely love mine. The roller effect is so cooling and soothing and, as I have said before, the skin under my chin has improved and the only thing I`ve done differently is the face rollers.

I have a tiny one which I got as GWP from Cult Beauty and it is brilliant, especially for under my eyes. I can`t be sure it would help you but it really could. Look for a roller which has the large and small ends, they don`t all have. The Adore Beauty ones are worth looking at. The soothing effect is unquestioned, in my opinion and there could well be definite benefits. I`ve now got 3, a gorgeous rose quartz one with just the large roller, a jade which has the large and the small roller and the tiny one.

EDIT sorry, but I had to edit a word and now this will be out of context because Hayley has replied to me before this was in, after I edited it!

      • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

Thanks for the information, will look into it.

    • 5 yrs, 1 mth ago

      Your welcome LadyLola. 🙂

I was going to buy one a while back but due to things I can`t use, found out that this wouldn`t be suitable for me. You wouldn`t think something like this would upset my syndrome I have but it would. I can only live it through hearing how you ladies love it.

  • 5 yrs, 5 mths ago

I love my rose quartz eye roller, got them off eBay at a reasonable price. Not sure whether they work in preventing lines, but it does feel quite refreshing, especially when I am watching dramas online (Lol). If used correctly, pretty sure they do some lymphatic drainage.
