How do you feel about ageing?

Hi beauties,

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about ageing (let’s face it, I’m not getting any younger!) and I’d love to pull together an article addressing how you feel about ageing.

Does the thought of ageing terrify you? Does it make you feel excited or intrigued to see how your skin and features change as you age?

To help with this, it’d be great if you could post how you feel about ageing and why on this thread.

I can’t wait to hear all of your thoughts!

I honestly can’t wait to see how my body ages. I have watched my mother and aunties all age with absolute grace and I really admire them for it! We don’t all get the chance to experience this, so take it as a privilege x

I’ll get back to reading the comments, but for now I’ll just say that the thought of ageing truly terrifies me to the bone. I actually have a complete phobia of it; I’m guessing my PTSD and depression/anxiety contributed to it. I’ve missed out on nearly my entire youth and I don’t want to miss out on any more, but who wants to see someone in their 30s/40s/50s/etc going out clubbing/concerts and doing all the things I missed out on in my late teens – mid 20s 🙁 I’ll also never get to travel or see my family again so most days I just think what’s the point. As for physical ageing; urgh the thought makes me sooo sick!!! Every day I examine my face in the mirror for any new wrinkles and if I see a grey hair I think I’ll die! Ageing sucks big-time would love to stay looking forever 21!

Hmmm it’s never really bothered me in the past, possibly because neither of my parents look their age and people always confuse me for a 15 year old but, for the past year or so I’ve been feeling like I look haggard and a lot older than I actually am (25)….and that freaks me out.
How could I go from baby face to hag in the course of a year!!!

I am worried about not being able to do the things I want to do because my body is falling apart, for example since April I have been having problems with both my hands, The doctor gave me pills which have not helped my hands and I haven’t gone back yet. I have already had an operation on my ankle because of cartilage damage.

I must say I have very strong mixed feelings towards aging ! Haha

I do not like the aging I am seeing around my eyes or how much harder I seem to have to workout at the gym to still eat what I want to! But besides that:.. I love being in my 30’s.. I love the stage of life I am in… It truely does get better with age… Independence, love and true friendships !

No one looks their age these days so I have confidence that if I keep following everyone’s advice I won’t look my age either !!

I don’t mind ageing; and I don’t particularly mind looking my age. I would like to be the best version of myself – inside and out. I consider it a privilege to grow old and gain new experiences/ knowledge.

I never worried about ageing until I had my daughter last year and being in my 40’s, I now find myself up against lovely young 20 and 30 something yummy mummies!! Now I look in the mirror and see my turkey neck, saggy jowls and frown lines. Seriously considering some enhancement over the next few years. I’ve always spent more time training my body to be fit rather than worrying about my face but now I’m really noticing the visible signs of ageing and it’s starting to bother me.

I’m starting to get quite concerned and saddened when I see the effects of aging on my face and body. I don’t envy young people because I’m so happy with my life, but still.. it’s a little sad seeing the fine lines appear, the stubborn fat creeping on, etc…

I’m not too concerned about it, it’s natural. Although I do have young looking skin and I try to take care of it so it continues that way. When I do get wrinkles or sag a little I won’t cry, atleast people won’t mistake me for being a child anymore!
