Fellow 20’s Ladies: What’s your top skin issue?

Hi all,

I’m still kinda new here, so here’s hoping I posted this in the correct spot!

I would love to talk to some of you about your skin. I want to write about this stuff on my blog, but honestly I’m not sure what people want to read.

So I’m wondering, what’s your biggest struggle with your skin right now and how does it make you feel?

Mine is with dehydration. My skin seems really prone to it, so I have to be very careful with anything I put on my face. Also, I think there are a lot of mental aspects people don’t really talk about when it comes to their skin. Like when lines start to show on your skin, it makes you start unproductively comparing yourself to others and worrying, etc. Anything you feel like sharing would be helpful.

Let me hear your deep insights, please. Thanks, everyone.

I’m 21 an starting see more bigger problems then when i was a teen finding out I have pcos an endo I get cystic acne now end up with scars an dark spots are the bigger one which I now try cover everyday same with blackheads we all hate em!!biggest issue is sensitivity for me tho , but get a lot of hormonal issues its the worst when I was 17 thinking I had good skin to have the worst to come!!

My biggest issue is sensitivity. I am allergic to a lot of stuff found in skincare, particularly sodium laurel sulphate. Which seems to be in just about EVERYTHING. So I have to be careful what I put on my cranky lil face. I’ve finally hit on a cleanser/moisturiser combo that works for now, but I don’t know what I am going to do when fine lines become an issue.

other than that, my skin is quite dry and I get a lot of hormonal break outs on my chin.

My skin issue(s) in my 20’s below:
    – oily t-zone
    – enlarged pores
    – dark circles
    – blackheads

What I use to manage my skin concerns is using cleansers/toners that contain glycolic acid (may be harsh on sensitive skin types), sunscreen and an eye cram (Origins is the brand I use) and it’s important to maintain the regime!

as the winter time is slowly creeping up on us I have noticed how much drier my skin is becoming, and with that fine lines around my eyes are much more prominent. I always use a rich moisturiser and a dewy primers to keep the hydration up, but definitely need a better eye cream…any recommendations?

Yes winter dryness has seemed to sneak up on a few of us this year!

I regularly use the sukin eye serum, it`s in a pump bottle but has more of a cream consistency and is really hydrating. It does the job and is also really affordable.

If you have a bigger budget the Bobbi brown hydrating eye cream from Mecca is eye luxury…. (but verrrry expensive)

I have very dry skin, dark circles and hormonal breakouts. I’ve also started noticing some lines forming around my eye area.

Dry skin always shows lines more. Some extra moisture around the eye area always helps improve that for me.

I have so many problems with my skin.

    • Dry skin
    • A few small pimples
    • Some insect bites
    • A small crater after I got chicken pox
    • Blackheads and whiteheads on my nose and near that area
    • Dark skin under my eyes
    • Dark spots/uneven facial skin
    • Pale
    • Dark spots in bikini area and armpit

I want to remove or hide these problems. I want to have rosy, healthy looking skin.

    Any suggestions?

I wanted to add that maybe you should try niacinamide. It`s great for lightening dark spots and helping with uneven skin tone. So is Vitamin C.

My top skin issue would have to be my dark under eyes they’re so dark that it’s hard sometimes to even cover but I have the right products. Also my forehead can breakout sometimes with little bumps and it tends to stand out more with makeup on

I have dark circles, too, the genetic kind. Thankfully my glasses detract from how noticeable they are.

What do you do with the dark skin under your eyes?

      • 6 yrs, 10 mths ago

I used green tea bags/ like a 15 min relaxing treatment. soak in warm water for a couple of min then sqeeze and place on your eyes *closed.. I find it gets rid of the puffiness and some discolouration. use a good green tea for better results and a few times a week!
