Dry Ankles

Helloooo beauties,
I need to know what your best intensive moisturiser is. I have the most disgusting dry spot on my ankle and the side of my foot. 🙁
Please and thank you xx

Lanolin if you can tolerate it and don’t mind using animal products. Lanolin is amazing for dry skin. It moisturisers and protects the skin from losing moisture too. It’s chemical makeup is similar to the lipids in human skin. The Scholl’s battery operated foot file is great too.

I use raw organic coconut oil and I also use a pumice stone just lightly on dry, rough ankles a couple of times a week. Using the coconut oil afterwards really helps.
The Body Shop body butters are great too, especially the Hemp one, and the Hemp Hand Protector.

Human + Kind’s Family Remedy Cream is my go-to cream for EVERYTHING! It’s great stuff. I’m surprised that the brand snuck into the BH database without any fanfare at all because it’s pretty impressive. High quality, natural, modestly priced products and so far I can only vouch for the Family Remedy Cream, but I’m completely blown away by that product and would heartily recommend it for any skin ailment.

It’s not that it’s super-intensive moisturising, it’s just that I’ve found it to be an especially healing cream that is highly effective, yet gentle enough to use on baby’s skin even. I’ve used it for some tough-to-treat skin conditions and seen dramatic results within 2 days of use. I seriously cannot praise it enough!

I find you want something that crosses over into being a bit balmy. My favourite for years has been The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector but I’ve recently branched out and gotten Burts Bees Hand Cream and it’s a bit balmy too. Aveeno Intense Relief hand cream isn’t quite as good but is a really inexpensive alternative.

When my skin is so dry it’s ashy my usual routine is to hit it hard with Macadamia oil (or whatever oil is cheap and handy… coconut oil works well) and half an hour later a balm-like hand cream and then I’m usually pretty happy!

I use Vaseline Total Moisture Dry skin all over my body (except my face) and it does a pretty good job as my legs are usually quite dry and this keeps them nice and soft.
