DELUXE BEAUTY EDIT
David Jones has this bag of products for $39.95.
Valued at over $250 (inclusive of bag & sample contents) as well as a $10 David Jones Beauty Gift Card to be redeemed in store only on brands included in bag below.
Included brands: Clarins, Clinique, Cremorlab, Elizabeth Arden, Ella Bache, Guerlain, Kiehl’s, Lancome, L’occitane, MAC, Molton Brown, Philosophy, Sampar, Shiseido, Weleda, Oribe, Versace, Carolina Herrera, Narciso Rodriguez, Shu Uemura.
There does not seem to be a qualifying purchase, but I could be wrong because there isn’t much info. Their site says two day online preview. I’m guessing it will be available to buy on Sunday.
Has anyone bought one of these before? What are your thoughts.

The one listed on David Jones Website is the 2018 Bag, same as in the picture on here when this topic was posted. They already had a bag earlier this year, it sold out within a couple of days if my memory is correct I think they only do 1 a year, maybe some other beauties might know.

Hi ladies, fast forward to Sep 2020 and I’m looking to purchase one of these as I haven’t for a while. It shows up online without “add to cart” and without further information other than other offers of buy 2 get 1 free. Why would they put this online without telling you it’s available in-store only? I’m not near a DJs at the moment and I’m disappointed. Looks like they updated the product in the last hour since I’ve checked too (and it looks like an old bag)- still no add to cart button though.

I feel for you having the item in your purchase cost and then not getting it!! Don’t hold your breath waiting for a feedback response!
A few years ago I had incredible service because I got shunted around waiting for something that in the end was cancelled, about 2 months after I ordered it but recently the response to feedback has been silence.
I would be furious too if I’d decided to order the special beauty item and find I wasn’t getting it, after the checkout process showed it in my order.

I did have that thought also Okatko I made a post on their social media and they asked me to contact them via DM which I did. They said that they will check out what happened with their online team and get back to me. That was 14hours ago and I havent heard anything back as yet so we will see.

Arghhh that is so infuriating!! Surely, they could`ve tried to see if any stores had stock and sent you one of those.
Such a copy and paste customer service response.

Bah that is a really ‘why bother’ response from DJs, very disappointed Meedee. I can say that I recently made two orders with DJs online (in a very very long time) and both orders were not completely fulfilled and partial orders were sent out. I guess I wasn’t inconvenienced too much and didn’t end up buying extra to reach free shipping quota. It just goes to show how inaccurate their inventory is! What’s slightly annoying is that both times I paid with gift card and to refund me they have to send a gift card back by post which takes a lifetime and a half to process (to the point where I’ve forgotten they owe me money)

I 100% agree Tigerlily I emailed them back and told them that there is no way I will ever reorder with them as I cant be sure the same thing wont happen again. I did also inform them that Im not the only one that is unimpressed with their service. I told them about this thread here but I really dont think they will even care to come in here and look.
Paying with a giftcard and then them having to send you another giftcard would be even more of a pain.

That is a great suggestion Okatko. I also have an issue with DJ – not with their online shipping but with trying to get a refund / exchange on an Ultraceuticals product I react to. Appalling “”service”” from the beauty floor manager.

Wow that sucks Lucrecia! I feel like they could be a bit more on top of this. I know in the past I have done the same thing which is but additional products for a GWP and then find they had run out of stock – we should be able to cancel the order then.

PS I have a DJ store card (no annual fee) just so that I can get free shipping all year round and complimentary gift wrapping. If you buy fron DJ all the time might worth looking into.

Well im pretty miffed with David Jones. I ordered this online several days ago. I added a couple of extra items so that I wouldnt have to pay postage and I figured the other items that I had purchased would do as a Birthday and a Christmas gift for others. So today Ive received 2 emails. The first to say that my order is finally on the way and the next email was to say that the Beauty Edit Parcel has been removed from my order and that portion of my order has been refunded. ggrr….so now I have 2 books on the way to me that I wouldnt have bothered to purchase. Ive emailed them and said that firstly they should check with the person before sending part orders and see if they wanted to cancel the entire order but even better then that they need to get their IT department on to adding a counter on their site so that it informs people straight away if they are out of stock. Ah well….I guess at least I do have a couple of gifts sorted now.

Meedee, same thing happened to me! I DM`ed to find out why it had suddenly appeared online after I was told it “”flew off the shelves”” even though I was online as soon as I got the email but never once had the option to add it to my cart. I was told they found some to “”drip feed”” back into the system and they were glad it all worked out for me in the end. Except it didn`t because after I placed my order for the beauty edit plus a $75 item I wouldn`t have otherwise purchased but did just so I could get free shipping, the following day they shipped the other item but cancelled my beauty edit. I`m so annoyed with them over how badly they`ve managed this. I`ve DM`ed again to get an email POC to forward my “”feedback”” to but nothing back from them.

So sorry to hear that Meedee. So frustrating!!! I hope you they can find you a Bag and send it to you for all this stuff up.

Re: My post on what`s annoying you at the moment.
Sorry to hear about this Meedee, must be really disappointing. Their customer service is just lacking all round. I actually went in store to purchase a full-sized item of one the samples in the bag and I left empty handed. Looking at alternatives to make my purchase. -

Meedee priceline did EXACTLY the same to my order 2 years ago. I wrote to them and at first they replied saying they don`t do any back order so they sent out the part order. I said no no, I don`t want backorder or part order and I just wanted to cancel the whole order and that they should have checked with me before sensing out the part order. and guess what, they completely ignored my email. I really didn`t want to shop with priceline anymore.
I think I could take this to fair trade but I couldn`t be bothered. But it is so bloody annoying when you get zero customer service.
Good luck and hope DJ responds better than Priceline!!

Skincare Junkie Priceline are one of the few companies that I have ordered online with and had no problems. I actually tried to have a look at Pricelines website when the haircare sale was on but the site wouldnt load so I contacted them and they told me that they have updated the website and it can no longer be accessed from overseas which is a shame.

I thought the same thing! I wish they`d checked with me because I would have asked them to cancel the whole order. Although I do see from their side how they probably think they were doing me a favour by not delaying the rest of my order.
Pretty miserable of them to not bother replying to your email though! Even just a sincere apology would go a long way.
-

Totally agree Meedee. That`s what brings integrity to good customer service. I had the same situation with Adore beauty website and they were kind enough to give me the option to get part of my order and wait for the missing part to be posted, pick other products or I could cancel the order. They kept me informed through email all the way letting me know when my products were back in stock, and offered parcel tracking. You`d think that a well established store like DJs would have this sort of process in place for sure. Very disappointing!

That`s really very disappointing Meedee, DJ is too far from my place and I was also thinking of getting it online. But I resist as I already have heaps of stuff to use.
Let us know how DJ compensate this issue.

I`m pretty sure they`ll do diddly squat! That`s why they state “”or while stocks last”” so they remove liability from themselves in situations like these. It`s really up to how highly they value the retailer – return customer relationship whether they choose to make a goodwill gesture, although I`m not feeling that vibe from them at all! I`ll definitely be giving them my “”feedback”” over this though! It`ll probably fall on deaf ears, but you never know. Hopefully they can do something to restore the relationship.

Also, doesn’t seem to be available online anymore, hope everyone was lucky enough to nab one

Like GeeJ mentioned, the Guerlain sample in full size is rp $202, so the 5ml sample is essentially the same price as the bag 🙂 I hope that helps
It does come with 20 samples, and my mums bag came with extra coupons for more samples redeemable in store and then there’s the $10 voucher for use on any of the products in the bag with a minimum spend of $100, valid for 12 months 🙂 -
5 yrs, 6 mths ago
Ooh… I didn`t notice that! That`s sneaky! That is worthy of a nasty-gram. So they think it`s okay to make some customers pay more (shipping) to receive less, not to mention all the regional area customers who just miss out completely due to their lack of online stock? DJs is really not looking after their regional area customers AT ALL.
Hang on… That`s not what it says at all. It says you can only redeem the voucher in store. It doesn`t say you only get the voucher if you purchase in store. That`s a bit different. Given that it`s good for one year, even those in the most remote areas should be able to get to a store within that time frame so that`s actually pretty fair.
But boy aren`t they a shining example of how to botch a good promotion!
-

It does say in the post only redeemable in store though, but I knew that already :p I’ll use it when I get my complimentary facial hehe

My Shu Uemura was a coupon for a sample in store, I have a feeling some bags might have different contents depending on amounts available
-

Hi Okatko, understand you hesitation to spend $50. That delivery fee is always a bummer. If you like perfumes there are three decent sized samples. The skin care samples can last a week to two weeks depending on if you apply generously. For example there is an Elizabeth Arden ceramide sample with seven capsules. From most of the reviews on BH one capsule is enough for two applications, so that`s a two week supply.
From the comments here there seems to be a lot in stores, so if you`re not sure you may have luck in store when you`re able.
