Cracked Heels

Anybody got any really good tips or products to use that will help with heels? Was considering the Scholl velvet smooth products but seems pricey and not sure if it actually works???

Last year I trialled the dermal therapy heel balm for bh and with consistent use it works really well. Also I was just in Kmart and I bought a moisturising foot mask by Purederm. It comes with 2 sock like masks which you just put on for half an hour then take off. I just did it and my feet feel lovely plus it’s got a beautiful scent. It’s not a Miricle worker but for $4 def an afforable option to include in your routine 🙂

Yes the Scholl range does work, I have their electronic foot file, the only thing is the device is quite noisy and the refills are expensive but it does work, I also use one of their foot creams. I also use a ceramic foot file as well which is also effective.

Scholl Velvet Smooth foot file +++!
I finally bought this from CW and wish I did sooner. It’s really a brilliant product and well worth the money – plus think of all the money you’ll save on pedicures or trying to use one in the shower – so annoying! But this you use on dry skin, and dare I say I actually find it fun seeing all that gross dead skin getting filed right off haha! For the best results ever, rub a highly nourishing foot cream in after and put on an old pair of socks. Go to bed and in the morning you’ll wake up with new feet. I promise!

Milky Foot! It takes a week or so to work and its a bit gross when your skin is peeling off but it works fantastically. I’ve used it twice and really need to use it again. Winter is a good time to use it as at least you can wear socks to cover your feet while the dead skin peels off.

Once the product has worked and the skin has come off, I use the Scholl Roller also.

Seeing everyone here recommend the scholl roller I’m going to go against the vote and recommend a product called Shea butter by moo goo.
The Shea butter balm by moo goo.
It comes in a round tube that is powdery. You rub between your hands and then apply directly. It’s gorgeous and natural. Its 100% Shea butter with a jojoba carrier oil.
I would not recommend scrubbing your feet or exfloating because if it’s cracked and you do this you could get infections.
Also if there that bad I’d suggest you go to the chemist and ask for a medicated cream. There are a few and will really help.
Just my thoughts on the matter xx good luck.

Glad to read this, my partner has super bad cracked heels like disgusting and after seeing the new commercial he actually thinks this product may work. However itching he needs special care in this department and don’t want everyone in similar situation falling for the same kind of appealing advertising on

Can I also recommend look for products with “urea” in them.
Its an emollient with natural gentle exfoliantion.
This is what we use in health care for older people with cracked heels and scaly skin and wounds.
Also sorbelene as a cleanser. You wrapped your feet in it and then wash off.
There are plently of products in the chemist with pure urea.

  • I will happily second the Scholl Velvet roller. Looove it. My mum got me onto it.
It goes on sale regularly for Half Price at Chemist Warehouse, so wait for then if you’re worried about price. I certainly wouldn’t pay almost $50 for it.
I use it mainly on my big toes which get quite calloused and also my heels. I use it in conjunction with a stone foot file I got from The Body Shop. It’s double sided so rough for the dirty work and a smoother side to polish it up. Works quite well also.
The big thing for me is I really have to keep on top of it. I spend all day on my feet at work so it gets bad quite easily. I would say almost every 2nd night I need to maintain my feet, whether with the file or roller. Definitely don’t let it get to the point where it’s so hard and cracked you might get infections, not nice!

Another person who can vouch for the Scholl Velvet Smooth foot file – seriously good product! I haven’t tried any of their other foot products, but the foot file is well worth the money, even if you only use it once a week like I do. I got mine from Chemist Warehouse as well since I couldn’t find the Ped-Egg rip off that I normally use (I had 2 of them, one of them wasn’t working properly, the other one I’d misplaced) & I thought it could be something that everyone would use. The cracked skin won’t be gone overnight, but I suppose if you use heel balm or a foot mask & use a foot file regularly then you’ll see the cracks decrease. Beware if you have ticklish feet though because the sensation from the foot file can tickle your feet at times.
