Confused – Which Foreo?

I would love some feedback as I am in the market to buy a Foreo for my oily-skinned daughter for her 15th birthday coming up.

I have read the two reviews on the aqua coloured one for oily skin but there seems to be so many choices in the Foreo range these days that I’m actually a bit confused as to what would be really best for her.

She has blackhead issues, congestion issues and very oily skin and scalp. She has major oil production and she is very, very pimple prone and acne prone (she gets batches of them). She’s not a fan of washing her face so I want to really buy her something that makes it easy and encourages her.

She’s also a technical gadget lover if that is anything to go by.

    Hi again CCW,

Well I’m a little red-faced this way giving you some incorrect information.

The FOREO LUNA 2 isn’t being discontinued!

My face and fingers are loving the LUNA 2.

I’m truly left with a glowing visage.

Best of all, it’s easy on my hand and fingers.

I’d love to try out the UFO.

    ❤️☺️ xx

    Hi CCW,

If you haven’t already purchased the FOREO Luna, I’d wait until September or purchase it from MECCA.

It looks like FOREO have discontinued production of the Luna 2 as it’s no longer listed on their website or on the U.S Sephora site.

    Just a consideration…

    xx

Cleansing brush will make such a good pressie!!

I have foreo luna 2 pink for normal skin. I have normal skin but found it a bit strong for me (even with low setting). I can’t use it daily. So I would also suggest go for either normal or combo skin version.

Also consider a clarisonic. I enjoyed more physical scrubbing sort of action when I was younger, and I think clarisonic gives me that deeper cleanse feeling, which is a bit different from foreo.

    Hey Lucy!
Yeah I’ll take into account all the comments, shaking them up together and then pulling out the solution in the end. : ) Ah thanks too – yes I will go and read some more reviews re the 2 and 3 models to see which might suit Holly my daughter best. After all this research into it I can see myself wanting to get one for myself. I can’t wait to read how you go with your RR purchase! Looking forward to knowing what you think. xo

I’ll definitely let you know how it goes…

Sephora have the 2 on sale at the moment.

While the 3 is exclusive to MECCA until September, I’m pretty sure Sephora will stock them after this period ends.

They may have them on sale post Christmas or Black Friday.

      ❤️☺️ xx

Edit: it`s only the UFO on sale… maybe DJs or Myer have specials.

I value so much all your input bh beauties! It has helped immensely and I can see clearly now the rain has gone : )

      Hi CCW,

I take it you’ve checked out the reviews on bh for both the 2 & 3 models?

As Yohanna stated, the app is a bit gimmicky on the 3.

That said, the 3 offers different massage intensities.

I purchased the Foreo 2 Sensitive in the recent RR so I’ll figure out how it goes then.

I’m particularly interested in how it fares for me as I have dexterity issues.

      Bring on accessible beauty!

Fantastic – thankyou heaps for your advice and comments Yohanna!!

No worries CCW! And talk to Foreo Customer service also for the advice. They are very helpful. After reading lots of reviews and checking discounts that is=)

Foreo for combo skin: blue coloured. I have huge pores from very oily skin in past. Now it normalized, but pores still huge and at times skin goes oily too. I bought first ForeoLuna2 when it came out for sensitive skin (lavender coloured) as I always use some actives. Was happy with it. Dropped it a few times on the shower floor, started to be glitchy. Amazing Foreo customer service replaced it with the brand new one (for free!) and since they were sending me a new one, I asked if they can sned the one for combo skin . They said: yes! SO I got blue one for combo skin. That thing is much more suited! It has different thickness knobs. With different firmness. Excellent to ‘get in there’ and do a good massage at it. The one for oily skin is not good. All knobs are too thick and too firm, not as flexy as the blue.

I say, go for combo skin one. Now, if ForeoLuna2 are on sale and well discounted than go for this one. If not, better to go for 3. Difference? Size. And my head that is huge, luna2 is enough. Some people still go for smaller ones as their hands are small as well as faces. Luna 3 is the largest with the bristle surface. Not necessary. Also some app thing. Gimmick. Not needed at all. The apps are part of marketing ….very clever

I think it’s a great idea to get your daughter a FOREO (or any other cleansing device, really). I was thinking I need to do the same for my daughters after using the FOREO Luna 3 for a few weeks. What a difference it makes! I ALWAYS get a pimple or two before I start my period and I didn’t this time. I can’t say for sure that’s due to using the cleansing device, but I’m thinking maybe.

As far as which one to buy, it seems like there’s a lot of choices but it’s easy to weed out the ones you don’t want. You don’t want the Fofo. The shape is wrong and you will spend a fortune in batteries. The Play Plus actually nearly convinced me to not get a FOREO at all. Using the tiny little mini was really nothing like using the proper Luna. The mini is like the Fofo too in that the shape can be hard to work with – in the edges and grooves of the face and especially around the nose, you need that tapered top to get in there properly.

That really leaves two options – Luna 2 and Luna 3 and at only a $20 price difference, I would say go for the 3. That’s what I’m going to get for my girls and even though their skin types are different (one sensitive, one normal), I’m just going to get them both the normal and customise their skin needs with the cleanser rather than the device.

I haven’t used the FOREO cleansers, but there are lots of cleanser options that work really well with the FOREO. I really like the Fresh Soy Cleanser as it’s gentle and rinses well without leaving residue on the device. I’ve also tried an Elemis cleanser with the Luna – the superfood cleanser is good. I do double cleanse sometimes, but I do my cleansing balm or oil cleanser first using just my hands or a wash cloth and then I do my second cleanse using the Luna.

I definitely plan on getting Lunas for my girls for their big Christmas presents this year. They might be disappointed when they first see it, but I know they’ll appreciate it when they see how well it works.

Good luck and whatever device you choose, I hope your daughter loves it!

I have combo oily skin and use a Foreo. I love it. I prefer to use mine with a cream cleanser though.

    • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

good to hear anne – which Foreo do you have? I`m noticing there is several different editions out these days.

      • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

I actually have two, one for home and one for travel, both Luna 2. One is very sensitive and one is for normal skin, I prefer the normal skin one it gets a deeper clean into my t zone area. I haven’t used the Luna 3, they weren’t released when I purchased mine.

    Bump!

Cleansing brushes are brilliant! I loved my Olay brush, but it was already obsolete when I bought it, so I couldn’t buy brush head refills. I love my Skin Physics Dermasonic+, but I notice that you’ve also reviewed it.

So, I can’t give you any advice about Foreos apart from saying I reckon it would make a great teen birthday present.

    Anyone?

    • 4 yrs, 9 mths ago

Yeah maybe I should let her have a go of my SP Dermasonic one and see if it makes a difference with her skin. Thanks M8. ; )
