Does anyone here take a collagen drink or supplement to help with their dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis or eczema? I thought it might help to clear up the skin on my face. What brand do you recommend if you do?
There's a lot of doubt as to whether ingested collagen really does anything. I occasionally take various collagen or hair/skin/nails supplements. No matter which brand I use, my bendy nails always get stronger, but I never notice any difference with my skin or hair.
I don't have any skin conditions, apart from being blemish-prone. My mother has rosacea & she swears by Invisible Zinc. She wears the Tinted Daywear - she even dabs it on at night in front of the TV! She says it takes the sting out of her cheeks. I don't know if that's helpful, Andrea. Good luck!
I was taking collagen for a number of years, but not specifically for dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis or eczema. I don't have any of these, but was taking it for skin anti-ageing and hair. I found it didn't do much for my skin, even over the long-term and in hindsight, it was a bit of a waste of money. There are just so many different products out there, it can be so overwhelming and there's a lot of supplements out there with lots of filler and low grade ingredients.
I have rosacea and tried Bioglan Inner Glow Powder for a few months. I contains Hydrolysed Collagen, Aloe Vera, Coconut Water, Blue Spirulina, Natural Vitamin C & Zinc. I saw absolutely no difference in my skin. I just found it another way of consuming more water.
Interesting topic this is, as there are SOOOO many of these products listed in the current rewards room!!!!!
Following this! My sister gets rosacea so curious to see if anything helps as I don't think she has found anything to date..
I agree that collagen supplements does nothing for the skin and hair.
Thankyou for advising this, sounds like they are a real waste of money then?
I too am sceptical when it comes to collagen supplements. I've tried at least 1, but it upset my gut & I passed it on to someone else. I'm reluctant to try any others for the same reason, even though I have a sample sachet of the aforementioned Bioglan Inner Glow Powder to use. Might pass that one on too.
Thanks everyone for your opinions and saving me money on this.
I take a Swisse Hair Skin and Nail tablet which I find helps improve the condition of my hair and skin, not so much my nails. Before taking this I used to take QSilica tablets daily they are quite expensive but you can buy cheaper silica tablets which are meant to be beneficial for your skin.
Check out the video by Lab Muffin, it’s very interesting and maybe not what you’d expect
I have Black Night. This looks overall black on the nails but it is a softened black colour because if you look close it actually has a black-dark forest green shimmer to it.
I received a pack of these at the recent Best in Beauty event at BH's HQ, which was fortunate timing as "shark week" began that same day (apologies for TMI).
I was given these at the recent BIB event (thanks BH and Nature's Way!).
