Book recommendation: Great Skin – Secrets the Beauty Industry Doesn’t Tell You

I stumbled upon this book at my local council library. The author has been in the beauty industry for 25 years and was Cosmopolitan’s beauty editor for over a decade. She’s not a dermatologist, but she has a lot of experience with products and she cuts through the marketing and teaches you what to look for. She has also consulted leading skin experts. The book has a lot of helpful information, covering everything from basic skincare to explaining various active ingredients, debunking common misconceptions created by the industry and discussing skincare issues.

I found it to be an easy and informative read, about 200+ pages long. It is unbiased and has good advice. It was published in Sept 2020 so it’s quite new. I think anyone who is interested in skincare would find it helpful.

thanks for sharing. Two years back I read books by Charlotte Cho about Korean ten-step skin-care routine, a nice reading. I adopted and have imlemented her recommendations, and my skin also liked new routine.

Sounds interesting, jupiter! I’m a very regular library user, too – good onya! I checked the online catalogue at my library & they don’t have this. 🙁
